Why We Should Be Allowed To Drive To School
High schools have no right tell students if they can drive to school or not, I feel as a high school student if I have a license and a car then I should be allowed to drive to and from school without being forced to take the bus. For me school buses can be very crammed in with a bunch of kids in the morning and where I live kids can be pushing and shoving kids all over the place, after a while that becomes very irritating and pisses me off it’s like being in a caged with a bunch of wild animals. Other reasons are the buses can stink very bad and look like they haven’t been cleaned or the bus chair covers haven’t in years, since at times I can be a very big germophobe that simply just makes me want to throw up and pass outright there on the

School should start later so students wouldn't drive so recklessly and accidents could be reduced. According to Damien Leger “The total cost of accidents related to sleepiness in 1998 is estimated to be between $43.15 billion and $56.02 billion.” (pg1) Students who drive to school need to focus on driving safe. Not only does it put the life of a student in danger, it puts all citizens in danger of losing their lives due to reckless driving. The schools classes need to start later in the day.…

I am currently a Title one instructor at Sullivan Elementary, and during the school year I ride on the school bus as an aide. They are currently trying to pass a law that states all children on a school bus must wear a seat belt. This is going to cost the school corporations thousands of more dollars a year to pay all of the aides it will take to monitor every school bus. We currently have teaching staff that has been without a raise in 10 years. This law will cost us more cuts in our schools, and who are those cuts going to affect? The students or the staff? So should…

I believe that high schools should have open lunches. Students should be able to leave the school grounds and go to a fast food restaurant, or, if they choose should at least be able to go outside and eat. Students need to have a small break from school during the day, even if they are outside, they still can take their minds off of school work for a while. Students need to have fresh air and adequate sunlight. Fresh air and sunlight is a proven fact to help students in their studies and it also helps the students concentrate more. I understand that the school staff would not like the fact that the students would be able to leave campus without supervision. Are not the students in high school? Should we not have the responsibility to be able…

Driving to school has been tough because most kids at my school dont know how to properly drive within the lines and park straight, so dodging a bunch of reckless rednecks in trucks and preppy girls in smart cars is a struggle. It's not getting to school that's the problem for me it's the leaving at the end of the day with the other 1,700 kids that drive. Our school population is about 2,400 something and the more kids that decided to try for a parking permit is only making traffic worse.…

School prom is one of the momentous events for students, which is the reason of some schools want to implement breathalyzer to ensure students’ safety. In my opinion, schools should not administer breathalyzer test at proms because it offends students civil rights, makes them guilty although they are not, and stands against students’ willingness.…

Does shuttling teens around until they are 18 sound appealing? The answer is no. Despite the maturity level of teenagers, the driving age should remain the same because any driver could be reckless, kids could rely less on their parents, and teens could learn responsibilities that they need for future references.…

Students struggle everyday with having to ride the bus, or even walking home from school. When they need to go somewhere, they need to have a parent to either drop them off or go with them to that place. Kids look forward to the day where they are 16 and free. Yet, why do we wait such a long time? Around 15 years old, students are to the point where they can drive to and from school, so why don’t we let them drive anywhere? Now, 14 is the age for a permit, and once you get that, you are free to get your school permit and license, so you shouldn’t have to wait another two years, at 16 years old, to be legal to…

It would be bad idea to add an extra one an half hour because there would be no time for extracurricular activities, older siblings wouldn’t be able to get their younger brother/ or sister off the elementary school bus, and schools would have to provide a snack for the children because it would interfere with families early dinner time. Can the school afford this? It is very important for families to have family time because families should have a strong bond. Also, kids should have time to get out their energy and have fun instead of learning for nine hours a day. Here are my reasons on why the School Board should not change school hours.…

Everyone and everything needs to sleep, humans and animals alike. It's how our brains store information and recharge, but people (especially Americans) aren't getting enough sleep. Kids and teens need at least 10.5 hours of sleep per night, but in a survey 51% admitted to getting 8 hours or less! This is a problem, and so to give teens and kids more sleep we should make school start later and after-school programs end earlier.…

There are numerous risk factors to driving, these both cause danger to the students and other drivers on the road. The school is liable for students during school hours' even if the student decides to drive off campus, this can be nerve racking to many people because of the people who do not listen. All across the country there is a battle fought between the people and the government. There are many branches of this battle that have to do with the public school systems. I am going to talk about the battle between schools taking away vending machines from students in public schools. The facts prove this is a ridiculous thing for the government to do. According to school administrators the past couple years, students are eating less food because of the government limiting them to certain foods. The government should not have the power to take away vending machines at schools; if they did this it would hurt the schools as well as leaving students hungry.…
