Every author or writer believes that books change one’s life. In Why We Read and What Books Do for the Human Experience, the author points out Gaiman’s three important functions of reading and how does books change the human society. Not only for adult, a lot of children also read for fun. However, some adults destroyed children’s interest to read by easily judge the ‘bad author’ or ‘bad book’. Some of them just forced their children to stop read, and, instead, give them books that considered as ‘good’. There is no bad author, “because every children is different” (Popova). Children read for enjoying, and seeking for new knowledge. Adults should not deprive children’s freedom to read. This also would apply to some of the adults. Library serves multiple purpose in the community today. But, no matter the book is in paper or digital, the purpose of library is not change. Library create a informational platform that everyone can access. “Libraries are about freedom. Freedom to read, freedom of ideas, freedom of communication” (Popova).
