Why Veterans Day Is Important
Veterans are people that is very special. Veterans are considered heroes because they are known for fighting in war. + Being retired. Veterans day is important because it tells them how much they are appreciated, also, it helps them know how much they are appreciated. I want to take time in, to thank all of the veterans for their hard work, to get us where we are now, and to save us from where we could have been if it wasn’t for you all. It is very generous to know that we are being thought about. Thank you.

It is important to keep honoring our veterans because they have sacrificed so much for this country. Also we honor them because we need to tell them how appreciative we are of their dutiful service to our country. Even the president honors our veterans. Each year the president or one of his representatives lays a wreath on The Tomb of The Unknown Soldiers in the Arlington Cemetery every Veterans Day to honor those veterans. Even though the first unknown soldier was laid to rest there on Armistice day on the year of 1921 this ceremony still continues. This is one way that shows just how important honoring our veterans…

Veterans Day isn’t about relaxing at home or hanging with friends. Instead, it’s about remembering those who served in the war and died, and honoring the military soldiers. It first started on November 11, 1919. Just one American Veteran is still alive today: 108-year-old Frank Buckles. In order to recognize Veterans Day, the Dublin society should host a community walk, wear white, and bring in real soldiers to talk.…

In 1918, President Wilson established November 11 as a day to show honor and thankfulness for those who have risked their lives for our country. This day was significant because it was "The War to end all Wars,” World War I. This day was mainly set aside to show pride to our veterans of World War I. In 1938, Armistice Day, Veterans Day original name, became a legal holiday. In 1945 just after World War II ended, congress changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day. Since then, Veterans Day was created to show pride to American Veterans of every war, with the oddity of a few years in which it was celebrated every year on a Monday, November 11th.…

Veterans Day is the day that we set aside to honor those who serve, but one day does not cover all the bloodshed. The day is not enough to show the appreciation which is due to the countless number of heroic men and woman. The American people should do more to show how much they appreciate their duty. Veterans make me be proud to be in a country were people would sacrifice themselves to keep our freedom and other rights that we take advantage of everyday.…

It is very important to keep honoring our veterans because if they didn’t fight for our country we would still be ruled by England or any other country that tried to fight us. Veterans play a big role in shaping our country and it is our job to recognize that. It takes a lot of tears and heartbreak to end a war, like WWI that ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, and those who survived and died are worthy of the recognition. If you have never talked to a veteran about their experiences in war, try it sometime and you might see how valuable they were in the making of the U.S. I think that it was smart that Dwight D. Eisenhower changed it from Armistice Day to Veterans Day because like I said it is very important to keep…

We fight because we believe. Not that war is good, but that sometimes it is necessary. Our soldiers fight and die not for the glory of war, but for the prize of freedom and the ideologies that our country stands for. So great, were these ideologies, that men and women have bravely fought to defend them. OUR COUNTRY HAS FACED MANY TESTS OF COURAGE since its birth. Our answer to tests can be found in cemeteries from the islands of the Pacific to the coast of northern France. Veterans are an important part of our nation and do not get the credit that they deserve. Veterans have risked their lives for this country countless times, yet they go unappreciated a lot of times. From a personal stance, my grandfather is a retired veteran himself and he fought in the Vietnam War. If my grandfather had not been able to get on his feet from retiring from the Navy, I would hope that there would be some type of support system for him. A lot of veterans today do not have the support system that they had when they were in the service. Once the veterans are out of the service their lives are not structured while in the service they were organized and controlled.…
