Why Proofreading Is Important
Although it is often overlooked, proofreading is very important. When a person reads a document that has spelling and grammatical errors in it, they can find it difficult to take the writer seriously. This is a problem especially if the person is a potential client or customer.

Many people tend to depend on their grammar checkers and spellcheckers on their word processor, but these often do a poor job and are certainly no substitute for a professional proofreading service, which makes sure that your document is easy to read, concise, and clear.

Many people make the mistake of misusing some words when they write documents. There are many words in the English language that have different meanings but sound similar. Spellcheckers miss these errors because the word may be spelled correctly, and the result is that that the document won't read correctly.

In order to inspire trust in your potential customers and clients, your documents need to be properly proofread, and must be error free. When your documents are error free, your customers and clients will have the confidence and trust they need to hire you. In addition, you will be able to get your meaning across easier when your document is concise and clear.

Taylor Mali’s “The The Impotence of Proofreading” is a poem that catches the eye of the reader immediately from the title. Mali writes about the importance of proofreading in a very humorous way. He says even though you may have a spell-checker, proofreading is not to be forgotten. A spell-checker can fail to catch missing words, fail to catch wrong words that are spelled correctly, fail to catch words that are written more than once in succession, and a spell-checker might even replace a misspelled word incorrectly. Failing to proofread a paper can also sometimes get you into trouble because of the crude nature of the wrong word that was spelled right.…

I feel like I am able to organize the idea and thought together and to put them on paper for my writing assignments. The weakness that I have with the writing process is Grammar and Proofreading. These have always been something I need to work on when I am writing any kind of paper. Another weakness that I have is being able to expand on what I am writing about.
