One of the most debated ideas in the world is religion. There has been bloodshed in countries over religion. Religion is a sensitive topic to some people because it is the reason people live their lives like they do. What is the reason people really choose religion? Is it because they truly believe in every detail of a religion or is it because they were told to believe it? It is a question I have thought about for a long time. So, what is religion anyway? According to Dictionary.com, religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as a creation of superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. You can think of religion as a dictionary definition or you can think of it as being answers to questions that no one can possibly have factual evidence for and most likely never will. There have been religious wars in different countries. People killing other people because of what they choose to believe in. War because of different religious beliefs is contradictory in itself because there is no religion anywhere that says that killing people is right no matter how bad of a person they have been. Every religion talks about making the world peaceful and bringing people together. If people would have open minds and accept that people have different beliefs and there is nothing wrong with that, then there is no point to the war. It is difficult to say when and what the first religion ever was especially without the technology we have today. That being said, one of the brightest civilizations, Ancient Greece, had types of religious behavior. In Ancient Greece, things happened in nature and no one knew what was happening. Then there was the birth of Greek Mythology. They had a God or Goddess for everything in nature and stories to go along with
