Why Kids Should Not Do Homework Have you seen a kid walking home from school looking sad? It’s probably because they have a lot of homework to do. I think that homework is unnecessary for several reasons. It stresses some kids out, kids are too busy to do homework, and they have already been at school for seven straight hours in a row. Homework stresses some kids out. They are worried about completing it correctly. Sometimes it is possible that the kid will get a headache from working too hard. Kids these days are involved in many different activities. Some kids are in sports, play musical instruments, are in clubs, and have chores to do at home. This does not leave much time for doing homework. Also, it is good to eat some dinner with your family and not be doing homework. Some kids ride the bus home from school and they do not even get home until after 4:00 pm. There is just too much going in the evenings to do homework. The last big reason that kids should not have homework is that kids have already been at school for about seven straight hours in a row. The majority of people think that children should have time for other things. (www.time.com) Kids are tired after a long day at school and don’t want to do homework. They want to play instead. Also, kids already do a load of regular work during the long school day and don’t want to do more at home. I feel that seven and a half hours each day is more than enough time for learning each day. In conclusion, other’s may say that homework is good for kids, but I argue that kids already do plenty of school work during the day and that homework is not necessary. According to researchers, there are many disadvantages to homework similiar to what I have already talked about.
