The provision of the English Bill of Rights that guaranteed the right to bear arms and required parliamentary consent to have a standing army was so important because it provided citizens with some form of defense, support, and protection. The right to bear arms was important because it allowed every citizen to protect themselves against harm legally, as opposed to only having a select few citizens that were guaranteed this right like it was before this provision. The United States Constitution was created on September 17, 1787 as the supreme law of the land. This document outlines the ten amendments which guarantee certain rights that American citizens will always have. One of these freedoms and possibly the most important is the right to keep and bear arms. As written in the Constitution, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” (U.S. Constitution). Whatever the purpose these guns are meant to serve it is clear that the right to own them cannot be impaired.…

This meant taking up arms against a King and his army that were tyrants to the new young nation. Along with taking arms it became a practice of self-defense, deterring invasions and uprisings. The second amendment provided that protection which this nation needed. Our government has grown in size and has become more complex since our founding fathers. But that doesn’t mean one should lose it focus on the human liberty at hand.…

As Americans we have civil liberties. Civil liberties are basic rights and freedoms that are guaranteed to American citizens (Thompson). For example, as Americans one of our civil liberties is to keep and bear arms. In our society, this civil liberty has become an issue due to several incidents involving firearms. Therefore, a bill has been constructed threatening our right to bear arms. I feel that as Americans we have many reasons that we should have this civil liberty is because the right to bear arms involved in the second and fourth amendments. The second amendment clearly states “a well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right if the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. If our government can take away our rights like it’s nothing, then what else can they take from us? We have many rights as Americans. The right to bear arms is one of the biggest. Some of the reasons why we shouldn’t have guns banned are second and fourth amendments, hunting, they will not end deaths, and how there are many other reasons of death that we should be worried about. Although these are just among the few that I have mentioned there are plenty more reasons why Americans should be able to have guns in our nation.…

Bearing arms gives the person an easier way to wound or kill another person. This would result into deaths of many thousands, dying at gunpoint. Ordinary citizens should not be granted the right to bear arms as it provides an easier option to wound someone, result in countless number of deaths and provide weapons for criminals/terrorists which could aid them commit crimes.…

Guns are used 2.5 million times a year in self defense. Armed citizens kill more criminals than police do. They shoot and kill twice as many in a year then they do. Which is something cool to know about concealed carry. Although, the second amendment of the US constitution allows citizens to bear arms, adults should have the right to concealed carry, because criminals are less likely to attack someone that might have a gun, criminals carry concealed carry regardless of legality, and carrying a concealed weapon could help stop all of the shooting sprees.…

Gun Safety has been a big topic that people are speaking of all the time. The Second Amendment says that citizens have the right to bear arms. That amendment was created for militias as America had become free and they didn’t want any surprise attacks from Britain incase they tried to take America back, now America and Britain are close allies. Everyday on the news there’s always a shooting and maybe it’s because guns are easy to access. I do not think that civilians need guns. Now some might argue that the police are corrupt and that they don’t want to rely on the police to do something that they can handle but that is their job. If guns are banned than their needs to be higher protection against smuggling as criminals will obviously not…

The freedom to bear arms has always been guaranteed in the second amendment for the longest. Many people and groups are trying to pretend that the constitution does not exist. These pope, are trying to band all weapons and reduce the rate that they sell at to reduce the crime rate. Gun control in my opinion will not stop someone from finding a weapon and purchasing it, there will always still be ways to find and use weapons even with gun control. The constitution was written and produced to be permanent for the people of the United States and not re done or messed with. People were raised by conservative parents back in the day.…

Bang, bang bang! I heard gun shots. It came from the house across the street. Apparently someone broke into the house and the robber had a gun and was ready to fire, but because of gun rights my neighbor had a gun also and he was able to protect his family and himself. "Imagined what would of happened if we didn't have that right and I didn't have a gun?" he told me. I told him that that was true. Gun rights are a good thing. It can protect us. Also if there weren't any gun rights what would we do with all the guns, we wouldn't be able to get rid of them all. If we didn't have gun rights our rights are being violated.…

Also, I believe that people should be heard, it is necessary to separate the people differently, because there could be religious wars. Many believe that the best ways to solve this problem was to have the freedom to say whatever they wish to say. Religious wars would break out because people would like to choose their religion. Freedom of the press is important also because people would like to know what was going on in the world. The freedom of the press is important because we will be able to know things that we didn’t know before. The founding fathers made it clear that we have the right to say whatever we want and believe in any religion we would like to believe in. This is a good amendment because everyone has their opinions about things and it’s not right to take that privilege of choosing their religion away. The most important to me, as a catholic, is god and I believe that if I weren’t able to choose my religion, I wouldn’t be happy. Many could argue with me but this is my opinion, and I believe that this is a good amendment. In my opinion, people should separate themselves with people because they would start many religious wars. These wars are unnecessary because people should be able to choose who they want to worship, who they want to believe in. This right is a ticket to freedom and will help our society in many different ways. We say things today that people used to say and we don’t get in trouble, this is a start but we have a long way to go, people are still getting punished for things they say or things they put on the internet, however, it is the beginning to a new stage in our nation. Our society has changed, for the better and for the worst, but our society is preparing for the perfect…

School campus’ have always been a large target for shooters and attackers. Students and teachers that have spent time to gain the trust of the government to conceal carry should also be able to holster on a campus without interruption. Many people will say having any weapons is a danger to students and any other pedestrians on campus but a law abiding citizen that has had training and known when a weapon should and shouldn't be used could be vital to saving the lives of many during a life or death situation. Shooters also knowing that this is true are a lot less likely to try and target a school knowing there is going to be resistance. Currently there are only twelve states (Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Wisconsin,…

Guns started in China about one thousand years ago, but have been evolved in order to be more efficient in the amount and quality of ammunition shot as well as the accuracy and power of the guns. Gun use in America began when the nation was first colonized. The purpose of the guns were to help the colonists with gathering pelts and food, and defending them from attacks. Older guns were equipped with ammunition that was loaded into the gun from the muzzle, giving them their nickname muzzle loaders, and the hammer on the gun struck a flash pan that held gunpowder. These guns, known as muskets, have since been upgraded enough to have more advanced guns such as a Mossberg five hundred or an AR fifteen.…

Americans seem to have a love for guns. In the United States gun ownership and gun control are huge political and social issues. Although there are many Americans that would argue that guns ownership is wrong and that there should be stricter gun control laws in the country, there are many more that believe the opposite to be true. The United States, with less than 5 percent of the world’s population, has about 35–50 percent of the world’s civilian-owned guns, according to a report by the Switzerland-based Small Arms Survey, it ranks number one in firearms per capita. The United States also has the highest homicide-by-firearm rate among the world’s most developed nations (Masters). If this is true, then why the fascination for guns in the…
