Why I Want To Go Back To College Essay
Enrolling in school was something I knew I had to do but have put off for the past few years. My Military training has been my priority since day one. Attending as many military schools and deploying often has taken precedence over college. At this point progression in my career is dependent on my ability to complete my degree and to fulfill my education. Deciding to go back to school seemed like an obvious choice for my career and beyond. I had once enrolled in a class where I physically had to sit in the classroom three days a week. With the hectic schedule of my job I quickly had to drop class and focus on my military training.
What school should I go to? I asked myself this question many times. What I had to figure out first is what I wanted to do with my life after the military. After talking to friend and family about colleges I was told I should get enrolled and take my general education classes and at least get those knocked out. I needed to find a school that was flexible and understanding of my busy lifestyle. A school that has worked with military before and understands how one second we are home with the family and the next second deployed overseas for months at a time. While on vacation with some family in Florida I noticed my sister-in-law who was active duty Air Force writing a paper for college. Since I am constantly in the field training or working, Excelsior provided me the solution that allowed me to complete my classes. In the past, I have attended college where I physically had to be in the class but I have always ended up withdrawing due to my erroneous work schedule. Finding Excelsior has afforded me the opportunity to stick with the courses and to actually complete the classes. Having my sister-in-law just a phone call away to answer questions was also a huge factor when choosing a
