Why I Like English Class Analysis

Ever since I was in elementary school I’ve hated english class. Throughout my years in school I have always had low reading score and when I take the STAR test that score was always low as well. Another reason why I don’t like english class is because I don’t like reading. The fact of sitting down and actually reading a book was not cutting it for me. I thought I had better things to do such as playing sports or hanging out with friends. English has probably been the biggest struggle for me. It’s not because I can’t read it’s the part on what I'm reading about. I could read a book and have no problems, but the problem is remembering and understanding what I read. The things I like to write about is myself. I could write many pages about myself because I know what to say on the top of my head. I do many things in my life that I could write about that makes me that person. I could write how unique I am or what hobbies I’m interested in. Another thing I like to write about are summary paragraphs about a book because I can look back in the book if I need help on remembering what happened. I personally think writing about a book is easier than taking the test over a book I just read because when your taking a test or quiz you can’t go back into the book and find the answers, you have to remember and I’m not that good at remembering things a lot of …show more content…
I think from 6th grade my confidence in writing has increased tremendously. I would say writing is easier for me than reading because in writing you can just put your thoughts on paper. Writing can be difficult for me if I don’t know what to write about or how to start it out. But as I started writing more I got to enjoy it more and it came easy to me. What helps me be a better writer is using correct grammar when texting. A lot of people now days do not use correct grammar when texting to someone. And a lot of us usually put what we say in our texts onto a formal piece of writing. My sixth grade teacher actually is the one who inspired me in writing. She would always give me pointers on how I could make my essay better and more appealing to other readers. I had other great English teachers but I think my sixth grade one made a greater impact on me in writing. My strength as a writer is putting thoughts on paper and turning it into something understandable. Like for instance, if I had an essay I would just jot things down on a paper and then just add things to that. Get started with the small things and you will have bigger things to think about while writing. There are some writings that I thought could have been better. When I was in 8th grade I didn’t do so well on my essay and got a poor score. Eventually I re edited my paper and I got a much better score afterwards. I think my problem was not
