Why I Chose To Attend College
About six months ago I started my college career. The reason that made me decide to attend college is my dream to become a doctor. This dream is what drives me to achieve excellence in everything I do inside and outside of the classroom. Being from Brazil I didn’t know what it meant to attend a university in the United States of America. But now after being in college for a semester I have realized that only few universities will provide me the quality education, the experience, and the tools necessary for me to achieve my dream. The current university I am attending has a pre-medical program, which has provided me with insights about how to apply to medical school. I find the classes the pre-medical program recommends extremely interesting, such as biology, chemistry, and psychology. Although I don’t think they are challenging enough for me. I want to be in a university where my professors challenge me to do my best every day and achieve what I think is beyond possibility. I want to study in a university that has a medical school, so I can learn from the best professors and students who have had first-hand experiences at a medical school.

I want excel in the classroom as well as outside of it. Serving the community is one of the things I desire to do. I haven’t been able to do much besides participating in charity events, and blood drives organized at my school. I wish to be given the opportunity to do more meaningful work. I have the desire to help improve the community that surrounds me. From my point of view, helping the people in the community will be how I will get to discover who I truly am.
