Why do people kill?
From baby killings to genocides all you’ll ever hear about in the news lately is about shootings and murders. When angry human beings act violently and aggressively, other caring and compassionate human beings sometimes wonder why. So what drives people to kill? Personal revenge, religious conflict, and mental illness are a few examples of why people kill. Usually the person committing the illegal crime doesn’t feel any remorse or guilt. For instance, both Grendel and Beowulf believed killing the other was right.

    These murders always have a link with the desires and ego of the person who is a killer and who is being killed. Sometimes this is done to protect oneself and mostly for power. Like in older eras, kings fight for land, power and more likely gold .In order to get the title of great king you have to destroy hundreds of villages and kill thousand of people. All these are old saying, but what about our new achievements word wars and cold wars. According to an internet site, “In terms of total numbers, the Soviet Union bore an incredible brunt of casualties during WWII. An estimated 16,825,000 people died in the war, over 15% of its population. China also lost an astounding 20,000,000 people during the conflict” (Business insider). This is a huge population loss which is just done due to invading the Poland. There are also some other reasons for the war, but still the question is same why would they kill so many peoples? Isn’t there any other way that they can solve the dispute? Their might be a way, but every country gone blind in revenge that they want to show what they have got new in their military after WW1. Now days every country and nation says, that they are peace loving and do not want war. Besides all this, our nations are still busy in constructing their armies.The main reason, having big armies is that they want to protect their people; unless everyone is peace loving and none of them wants war so whom they want to protect from? Might be from the same humans who just live outside their borders. A person kills for a number of reasons. Gang members kill rival gang members for a higher status among their community, more respect in their gang resulting in them getting more sexual partners. Thieves kill their victim incase that person cause them trouble in the future. Husbands kill their wives for having an affair or been expected of having an affair. They kill their wives incase their wife reproduces children with a rival male. Children are abused by people that have too much anger or people that may have been abused in there own childhood; they do this to make themselves feel inferior. Children may also be abused and murdered by step-parents more often than biological parents, as in evolutionary psychology these children are no good to their step-parents as they do not carry their step-parents genetic traits, therefore are useless to them.
