As a former public school teacher and administrator, I am typically not in favor of anything that might cause a distraction to the pedagogical process. Over the past several years we have seen the rise of many gadgets that have done just that. For me, the most intrusive apparatus arriving in the classroom that continues to vex educators has been the smartphone. Teachers are forced to constantly perform the “turn that off,” “log off that,” “put that away,” dance everyday resulting in the loss of valuable learning time. Now, we have the fidget spinner.…

Adult are struggling just as much as a student because of it becoming a distraction during their work hours. Some adults were buying this toy for them because it seemed very interesting since every kid said that. Many adults look for ways to handle their anxiety which the fidget spinners help manage it. Did you know that more than half of the world’s students are using tablet computers? To all the students out there who are not lucky enough to even use a computer (at home or at school), I am deeply sorry for you since half of the people that are at the same age as you are surrounded by information, and are improving their knowledge of the world everyday. No worries! After this speech you will have all the rights to go against who ever would not let your school have laptops/computers. "How is it possible to convince my headmaster to let us have computers in school?” A Chinese proverb once said: “Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in a different time.” It clearly states how the minds of the elders and the juniors are so different since they were born in different times or even centuries. Would you rather listen to a person who has a mind to create more possibilities and not stick to the old rules or a person who sticks any same old rules that their elders once told them and rule the school? I bet you most people would choose a person who creates more possibilities than an old man who sticks to the rules and not let the school have technology. I mean, what is the point of a school, which only has books and pencils, and never interact with visual presentations; it would make the students lives in to hell! When they grow up, what job would require them to only write in books and pencils? If your child does not know anything about technology, what can they even be when they grow up? Nothing is my answer to that. You might say an architect, but sadly, they do use computers too, since after they finish the planning and design of the building, they would have to scan it on a computer and send it out to the managers. Our lives depend on technology and computers. Kids in school used to write on paper and read out of books But the fact is, more and more kids in school…

In 1886 the first fizzy ‘soda’ was made when Joseph Priestley reproduced carbon dioxide in an experiment and dissolved it in water, noting its pleasant taste. From there on Dr. John Pemberton, Caleb Bradham, Charles Alderton and Charles Hires revolutionized his invention, and created four brands of soft drinks which are being sold all over the world, in convenience stores, vending machines, coolers, and in packages. Even schools all over America have added vending machines selling these soft drinks along with other snacks to their students, teachers, and staff. However, these vending machines should be banned from America’s schools because it delivers a variety of problems that can affect a student's academic performance, their use of money, and their overall fitness.…

First, the biggest thought for me would be the fact that everything that the MacBook has access to that is not involved with school is considered a distraction. There are already plenty of distractions in the classroom without the computers. Games are not too hard to find online and even with a blocked internet solution, kids still seem to find their way of playing games. Another distraction would be music, this could be when a teacher is calling someone’s name and gets no response, or this could be when a student decides to be silly and plays the music as loud as the speakers on the MacBook can go. This could create a huge distraction for a student that is trying to read or might be studying for an upcoming exam.…

When preparing to work on a display in our school there are outlines which must be followed to ensure the safety and quality of the display. The display must pose no possible risk to the health and safety of the children, this means there should be no pins sticking out of the wall and no protruding sharp objects. There are set areas in the corridors and hall for each class to work, it is important to check which area has been allocated to your class before working on a display. All displays must be backed in coloured paper and have a clear heading or title. All items of paper should be laminated before putting on the display as this will prevent them from being damaged and help the display to last as long as possible. Items should be fixed to the display by using a wall stapler or adhesive Velcro strips. Pieces of work by the children may need to be photocopied first as the originals could be needed by the class teachers. All pupils should have an item of work on display as this promotes confidence in their own learning. When using photographs of children, it is important to check that the parents of every child have granted permission for photographic images of child to be taken and used. This information is kept in the school office. The display should be inspected regularly to maintain standards and repair any damaged areas. This is an important health and safety aspect as an item which has fallen from the display could become a hazard. When the display is dismantled any appropriate material should be recycled.…
