Where The Red Fern Grows
In the book Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls, he attempts to show others how you have to work hard for the things you want. Billy is working hard and showing dedication, when he works for the money to buy his dogs (Rawls 28). Billy has been working for two years and has gotten this money by getting hides, catching fish with his bare hands, helped cook in the kitchen, and picked blackberries barefoot. Billy’s feet were all cut up, and his grandfather was proud for his dedication and hard work. Billy is dedicated when he goes hunting for coons with his pups (Rawls ). Billy goes hunting almost every day and works his hardest. Billy never gives up and this shows how dedicated he is to his pups and hunting.
