The pigs force the hens to lay more eggs and the cows to produce more milk to sell, all whilst claiming the farm is running better than it had before the revolution. The story ends with the pigs refuting the rules that were the tenets of the rebellion. “The creatures looked from pig to man, and from man to pig; but already it was impossible to say which was which”. This shows that the farm is no longer democratic, and the pigs are now just like men, the former dictators.…

In many great texts concerning the politics, it can be observed that the context in which the piece was created greatly influences the ways in which values and themes are presented and the form in which it is produced. Major ground shaking events have the power to transform paradigms of individuals and whole societies, and in turn morph and influence the themes a text created in the same time period implores. Warner Brother's 2005 film "V for Vendetta" and George Orwell's 1945 novelette "Animal Farm" both deal with concepts present in the political climates of their times and the problems associated with them; the cost of apathy towards injustice, propaganda and its influence, and the crippling aspect of fear. The representation of the themes present in the two texts contrast and compare in many ways due to the diversity in the contexts under which each was created and the universal continuity of the themes present. Orwell's 1945 text was created at the end of the Russian social revolution that left the once optimistic Russian people in tatters and under the boot of a brutal fascist regime, while the Hollywood movie was created post 9/11 in a time where people turned to their government for protection from unknown threats, willing to sacrifice their liberty for safety. It was situated in a future dystopia as opposed to Animal Farm's historical setting and warned of what could be the outcome of choosing to blindly follow the neo-conservative politics of film's time such as Bush's and Thatcher's parties. Both texts make political statements that are influenced by the historical and personal context of their creation and contrast and compare greatly in form and values.…

The animals on Jones’s farm hate humans and believe that they should not be treated the way they are because they are forced to do all work on the farm. One night the animals meet together and discuss the issue. They come up with the solution of forcing Jones and his wife out of their farm house. At this meeting they are also taught a song called “Beasts of England.” This soon becomes the anthem of animals all over. “The singing of this song threw the animals into the wildest excitement. Almost before major had reached the end they had begun singing it for themselves. Even the stupidest of them had already picked up the tune and a little bit of the words and as for the clever ones such as the pigs ad the dogs they had the entire song by heart in a few minutes.”…

Old Major, a prize-winning boar, gathers the animals of the Manor Farm for a meeting in the big barn. He tells them of a dream he has had in which all animals live together with no human beings to oppress or control them. He tells the animals that they must work toward such a paradise and teaches them a song called “Beasts of England,” in which his dream vision is lyrically described. The animals greet Major’s vision with great enthusiasm. When he dies only three nights after the meeting, three younger pigs, Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer formulate his main principles into a philosophy called Animalism. Late one night, the animals manage to defeat the farmer Mr. Jones in a battle, running him off the land. They rename the property Animal Farm and dedicate themselves to achieving Major’s dream. The cart-horse Boxer devotes himself to the cause with particular zeal, committing his great strength to the prosperity of the farm and adopting as a personal maxim the affirmation “I will work harder.”…

In Animal Farm, Napoleon and his followers are all animals; Napoleon is a boar (Orwell 6). All are capable of speaking English, but only the pigs are intelligent enough to read and write (Orwell 9). In V for Vendetta, all characters are human. V wears a Guy Fawkes mask for the entirety of the film and therefore appears odd. However, he is human. Moreover, citizens act in the same nature as one would expect. They are largely manipulated through the news’ use of words and dramatic pictures and videos. For instance, when V raids a news station to broadcast a message, he escapes flawlessly. Though, the news portrays a man getting shot and frames it as V’s death (McTeigue, V for Vendetta). In the analyzation of Animal Farm, one finds that animals were most likely used instead of humans because Napoleon ran a communist society. Karl Marx, who inspired the foundation of many communist regimes in the twentieth century famously, said, “The worker in his human functions no longer feels himself to be anything but an animal. What is animal becomes human and what is human becomes animal” (Estranged Labour, "Karl Marx"). However, Animal Farm is at a disadvantage as a novel because the reader must visualize the contents themselves. Moreover, it is is difficult to connect with animals in comparison to humans. Even…

In “Animal Farm” the pigs took over dictator ship and then changed the rules to benefit the pigs making them higher than the equal and the rules that they changed are better for them because what the pigs changed benefited the most because the other animals wouldn’t start doing what they did because they know that the pigs are higher. Just like in the Harrison Bergeron movie where everyone is equal and if they are better in any way or are unequal in any kind of way they will make them even by making them walk with these big excruciating weights on their arms, legs back, and chest to make them all equal and to the ones who were intelligent or even a bit more thoughtful and active with their thoughts they would be forced to wear a device that shocks their head every time they think of something that they shouldn’t be thinking of.…

The first thing that the animals changed about the farm is the name. They changed the name of the farm from Manor farm, to Animal farm. They all learn the song "beasts of England" that Old major had taught them before the rebellion. They have also made up 7 commandments that all animals on the farm must live by. They use the phrase "four legs good, two legs bad," to remember the 7 commandments. They use this because not all animals on the farm can read, but sense the rebellion a lot of them have learned, or have learned few letters of the alphabet. The pigs can read and write perfectly. They have made the majority of animals to believe that they are the most intelligent animals on the farm, so they should be in charge. Instead of Mr. Jones telling the animals what to do, the pigs make the decisions. All the animals are happy because they get to live their lives without the humans. The animals work for the pigs without questioning their authority. They are happy because the pigs watch as the hard working animals (like boxer for example) does all the work. Boxer now believes that Napoleon is always right, so he does whatever he wishes. Some animals decide to leave the farm (Molly for example), but most animals have stayed loyal to the farm and put forward a lot of hard work and dedication.…
