Whe When A Sheep Chapter Summary
Plot Summary: One morning, an eight-year old farm girl Fern discovers that her father John Arable intends to kill a runt baby piglet. Fern persuades her father to save its life and let her nurse the baby piglet. She raises him up on a bottle and takes him for walks for several months, she also gives him a name – Wilbur. When Wilbur is old and strong enough, Mr. Arable sends a pig to Fern’s uncle - Mr. Zukerman who allows Fern to visit Wilbur at the farm any time she wants. At Zukerman’s farm Wilbur feels lonely and misses Fern. None of the animals seem to be interested in his company and none of them want to play with Wilbur. Eventually, Wilbur hears a calm, soothing voice telling him that she will be his friend. The next morning, Wilbur finds out that his mysterious friend is Charlotte A. Cavatica, a spider whose web stretches above the entrance of the barn. At first, Wilbur is horrified by a cruel nature of a spider, soon those two become dear friends.
