What Was My Involvement In Mr. Michael Troutman´s Junior Achievement?
Since the age of 7 years old, I have been a participant of the benevolent organization Junior Achievement. My earliest memory of being a participant of Junior Achievement is when Mr. Michael Troutman visited the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton/Mercer County in 2006.Mr. Troutman taught a lesson about entrepreneurship and I was immediately compelled to learn, when he mentioned how successful entrepreneurs make a lot of money. While working for the Columbus Foundation Fellowship, my goal is to absorb as much knowledge as possible. I am confident I will learn how to interact with external stakeholders, donars and all individuals in regards to showing how their nonprofit is making an impact. This will teach me how to take an organization’s message and not only spread it among citizens, but instill a sense of urgency for their issues. I am also confident I will learn how to accept and internalize any professional feedback given to me. My passion lies with advocating for those voiceless citizens attempting to better themselves through education. I hope to one-day advocate for low-income students because they do not always received equal opportunities as others in education.…

Entrepreneurs are worshipped for their vast knowledge and achievements and often times, their contributions to society are praised and greatly appreciated. However, most of these successful individuals are not successful simply because of how creative or unique they are, but mainly for other reasons that are not seen at a first glance. In Malcolm Gladwell’s book, Outliers, he writes that the success of these achievers is actually dependent on their upbringing, and the factors that made them who they are. His opinion remains true as most if not all successful people are really just ordinary people who had advantageous circumstances, favorable backgrounds, and the will to do hard work.…
