What Is a Hero?
What is a Hero? The topic that I chose was: What is a hero? Is the true meaning of the word being diluted in today’s media? I came to this decision by consulting with my fiancé. This is the one topic that has more meaning to me than the others. I will use what I know, mainly, for the basis of my paper. I do not know where or how I am going to do research other than what I know on the topic. So right now I do not have any sources but I will do more research as the weeks go on. My family is very military based so that is the approach I am taking with this one. I have strong feelings with this topic because you see all these new “hero” movies and action figures coming out in stores everyday but not many are like the old G. I. Joe’s and no toy can ever depict the true hero’s out there risking their lives to save ours. Some people when asked “who is your hero?” they may reply with superman, or even Spiderman. If I had to choose is would be someone like my grandfather, or even someone like G. I. Joe himself. This assignment gives me a lot to think about. I have taken a poll in my family, not telling them what my reason for this pole is. I asked them one by one on different occasions who they would consider their hero, only three of them thought the way I did with someone who is out there being a real hero day by day all the rest said; 2 superman, 3 wonder-woman, 1 batman, and 1 John Cena.
