What does it mean to be an honors student? This question could have many answers and a lot of different topics brought up when you hear this question. When most people hear “honor student” they think of nerds or somebody who is really smart and doesn’t care about anything us but getting good grades and being on honor roll. But being an honors student means that they are often recognized for their achievements, they are role models for their school and community, and they are dedicated to their school and grades. Everyone has the potential to be an honors student but only some will actually push them self to achieve that goal. It has become more and more important for students to be honors students and really rise to the task. Because of this struggle, more students are becoming honors students. It looks better on your collage application and it can help you later in your life.
Being and honors student means that you are often recognized for your achievements. People may think that honors students only care about their grades, but that is a common misconception of a true honors student. But now more than ever, honors students are everywhere.. These true honors students understand that to do nothing but study for four years of high school is not a way to meet new people and expand your thinking. Meeting new people can change the way that you think and add to your knowledge. Sharing ideas, sharing thoughts, and sharing experiences. Experiences help you to learn the most important lessons in your life.
These students are often role models for their school and community not only because they are smart, but because they have excellent character. Sure they will slip up every once and a while because we all do, but they will pick themselves up again and keep going. Their character is what keeps them going towards knowledge. They will not stop no matter what. They will be role models to the kids that are still in middle school and maybe
