What Courage Mean To Me
Courage is when some does something that frightens them, or they overcome their fears. As much as I think riding your bike without training wheels, or jumping off of the diving board when you were little takes courage, courage is something that is definitely earned. Feeling fear yet still choosing to act of those fears is something that represents courage to me. Standing up for what you believe in regardless of the situation is also very courageous and it takes a certain type of person to stand up for their values. Doing what you want to do and following your heart is a a big one to me. There are many more reasons why, but those ones are the reasons that come to mind when I hear the word courage.

Standing up for something you believe in can be really hard. Its very easy to get caught up in what everyone else thinks. Being judged for something you believe in can be very scary, and can cause you to not speak your mind. When someone does stand up and say what they think, it takes a lot of courage. They are taking the chance of maybe being ridiculed, supported, or getting no response at all. I think doing that is a big step.
Say you were from a family of all lawyers. Your dad was a lawyer, his parents, were lawyers and so on. It's going to be assumed that you are going to be a lawyer too. Being your own person takes a lot of courage. Your family imbeds into your brain that law school is just the family way, but that's not you. Standing up for yourself and going of and doing whatever it is you want to make of yourself regardless of what everyone else wants you to do is a decision that courageous people can take. Making yourself happy before everyone else is something that has to be done sometimes, but it can take a lot to do so.
Courage means a lot of things and people can be courageous in a lot of different ways. At the end of the day you are the one making your own decisions, taking the fight side when you go into fight or flight mode in that life or death situation, and simply following your own dreams. That's what makes a person have
