The first email,written in a familiar tone,a problem as well as frustration is shown. In “ The Veggie Police” the author writes using popular short hand, for example the ending “ TTYL”. Emphasis at the end of statements comes up on three different occasions, same with multiple question marks. Using punctuation in this manner gives the email a backdrop of quizzical fury. Another example of the tone would come from the words themselves. Anger was not portrayed with capitalization or exclamation marks as the first email. Rather methodical and specific comments where made, as well as a confident stance with the details being presented. Words such as “ I know, I am sure” solidify these facts. Listing the current lunch menu showed the email recipient exactly where the problem is. Research was laid out giving a positive example to why the issue should be of importance. Giving the problem a well thought solution, and ending the email with “ the hope of working together” set the tone as helpful
