Week 8 Reflective Report
Week 8 reflection was a little overwhelming there a lot to learn over a lathe and having no experice with one does't help. I did know one thing about this mehciean through that's diffrent from the drill press and mill and that the parts spine and the cutter is statianary. learning the nomain cleatuers of the lathe was somthing I can see to be important like anything being new. You need to know the parts your working with. So starting out knowing the location of the headstock, motor, tailstock, spindle, tailstock spindle, apron, saddle, cross slide, clutch/brake, spidle speed selector, quick change gearbox, split nut contol, carriage, ways, compound rest, tool post, longitudinal and transverse feed control, lead screw, feed rod, and bed are …show more content…
I always think of a drillpress and mill when this opration comes in my mind. Knowing the type of metals your trying to cut can be importan to know for the right cutters to use I always know with the drillpress the larger the bit trying to dill the slower the speed and the small the bit the higher the speed. I never knew to info on the coatings on the bits but I did learn now about cobalt and tungsten being coated now to make the cutters harder even at high tempetures. When setting up a letha I see that planning on how your going to do the job first be for you start will save you a lot of time and headach. I think this is what would take up most of my time though but over practice you will gain experiace and pick up speed. Having a drawning lade out of the part I'm going to make for example a barrel would be a good idea. I'm definatly going to save the section over the mantenance chart. Looks to me it's like having a vehical if you know when to do the up keep of preventive mantnance it should last you a long time. All the other charts I will also save they look like good general knowlege to have knowing how to caculate the rpms and feed

Week three was highlighted by the discussion of fixed assets and the use of accounting for depreciation of those assets. Businesses utilize depreciation of their fixed assets to take advantage of the tax breaks that they receive. The cost of depreciation of assets lowers the taxable income of a company and in turn allows either a higher refund or less owed in taxes. Another option that is available is the use of accelerated depreciation. This option allows for companies to accelerate the depreciation of assets to a current year's return to gain a higher tax break. The use of this tool is usually implemented in times of economic turmoil to stimulate the economy.…

The information that I was having a problem with in last week’s reading was dealing with Notes Receivables. I was having a hard time taking in why and where it would be coded on the books. I took a little extra time this week to gather information so therefore I could have a better understanding. Notes receivable is an asset of a company, bank or other organization that holds a written promissory note from another party. For example, if a company lends one of its suppliers $10,000 and the supplier signs a written promise to repay the amount, the company will enter the amount in its asset account Notes Receivable. The supplier will also enter the amount in its liability account…

The differences between substantive law vs. procedural law, is substantive law deals with the legal relationship between people or the people and the state. For example, substantive law defines degrees of murder in a case. Procedural law comprises the set of rules that govern the proceedings of the court in criminal lawsuits. I felt sad for Mr. Gill, one of the main reasons being that I have personally been in a MVC myself which brought up the similar feelings, such as anxiety and chronic pain that Mr. Gill expressed. It felt like despite the differences in our age or situation, the pain he was expressing I could relate to directly. Another reason for feeling sadness for him was that he reminded me so much of my own father in appearance and nature. During the session, he referred to me as someone who is like his daughter and that he felt comfortable sharing information with me. I think this moment caused a shift in our therapeutic relationship, in which I felt even more inclined to show him respect and to provide encouragement on his development. The language barriers he faced in getting treatment made me feel angry towards the system. Unfortunately, MVC are common occurrences in our society thus, I imagined that the support systems would have been set in place for survivors to reduce the effects of physical and psychological harms.…

Mr. Wood begins his article by stating that even the most complex of checkering designs can be accomplished once you understand the fundamentals of the tools. The author states he goes with Brownell's full view checkering tools for the basics. The address is also provided so one could send correspondence to Brownell's about purchasing the tools being discussed. Most of what the author has learned about the subject of checkering has come from himself, although it was not an easy road. Mr. Wood recommends a book titled "Checkering and carving gunstocks" by Monty Kennedy. As with anything else, you have to put in the work in order to obtain skills in this particular area of gunsmithing.…

Within the 6-year experience in providing the palliative care for the patient with cerebral palsy I became confident in communicating with other health professionals to discuss patient's health status and to develop the most appropriate treatment for the patient. I have also developed self-confidence and empathy towards others during the 4-year experience in customer service, while working as a bartender. Interacting with customers during busy night-shifts provided me with an opportunity to develop problem solving and stress management skills, and to learn acting patient and calm in uncomfortable situations. My social skills further developed during my trip around the world. Travelling introduced me to a range of different cultures and improved my ability to communicate with individuals of different…
