Wayne State: Becoming Diverse Community
Hearing that Wayne State is a welcoming diverse community is something that makes me ready to be a part of the student body. Being a person of color and growing up in a community that was so welcoming made life easy to embrace. For years as a young child, I was always worried about not being able to fit in or to find friends: simply because I was told by adults that the other kids would not like me for not being “American” enough. Now as a young adult I am able to say that those adults were wrong, I grew up with friends of all different ethnicities. At Wayne State I would make sure that my fellow classmates feel the same amount of comfort I felt growing up. I am so fortunate that growing up in such a diverse environment has made me a well-rounded
