Voters Day Journal There is a lot that goes on during the year of a presidential election. There is much to know and understand about the process of voting during the election. This year’s presidential candidates are Barack Obama (democrat) and Mitt Romney (republican). Their VP’s are Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. I am about to explain the process of understanding everything there is to know about voting. I am currently registered to vote. I went to the county registrar’s office and filled out a paper and they sent me a voter registration card in the mail a few days later, it’s just that simple. My voter registration card is valid forever, unless I do not vote for 4 general elections, then you will need to re-register. My voting precinct is at the Charlton Public Library, and I found this information on my voter registration card. I am supposed to go vote on the 6 of November, but I actually early voted Friday, which was the deadline to early vote in Georgia. Any voter registered in Georgia can vote absentee by mail or in person. This allows you to vote at a time that is convenient for you. There are three statewide ballot measures that will appear on this year’s ballot. Two measures are legislative referrals and the other is a state wide referendum triggered by a legislative bill. The referendum would increase the sales tax in regions by 1 cent. One of the referrals is regarding the establishment of public charter schools, and the other gives the State Properties Commission the authority to enter multiyear lease agreements.
