In all of my 13 years of living I’ve heard so much about voting and how everyone should vote, but nobody has bothered to tell me why. I’ve grown up with a lot of my family voting for presidents, state representatives, senators, and more but it’s just something that they do without thinking. When election time comes, they go to wherever they need to go to vote, they vote, and then they come home. I believe that the importance of voting should be taught everywhere. As Americans living in the democracy that we are living in, it’s usually our nature to vote, but many people choose not to vote because they don’t understand why it’s important.
