VARK Analysis This paper will describe the meaning of the acronym VARK and the purpose of the VARK questionnaire. When in a classroom setting, it would be difficult to focus on one type of learning style and meet everyone’s needs. I feel a multimodal approach would best suit the needs of a class to touch upon styles that may benefit everyone. In contrast, if an instructor is meeting individually with a student, knowing the learning style of the student may allow for the instructor to employ different strategies to assist the student in learning the material. In conclusion, the VARK questionnaire can be a valuable tool to both learners and teachers. It is important for the teachers and the learners, when referencing the VARK results, to be aware that results are preferences and not strengths. Additionally, results indicate a general ‘rule of thumb’ and should be used as a guideline. (Flemming, 2011)
