Unit 45 P3
Review: Unit 2

Unit 45: P3- Present one complex piece of work as an example to demonstrate the use of resources within own studies.
Resources used:
Books (health and social care text books, As level book)
Internet websites
Pamphlets
Moodle
Teachers
City hospital care workers ( outside of college)
In my unit 2 I began to use the health and social care text books that I found in the library and borrowed out for a few weeks. By doing this I gained a better understanding of the subject. There we began to cover communications and the effectiveness of different forms of communication. The health and social care text book gave me the information that I needed to include in my p1 and p2. From then on I began to research different websites on barriers of communication. This gave me an idea of what barriers are and how I need to explain it in my work.
Another source of research that helped me understand what I need to include in my assignments is an AS Health and social care text book from Edexcel. I made sure I checked the validity, date and referenced everything which was not my own work.
By using moodle you begin to understand the depth of work which is expected of you and it is explained efficiently enough to be understood, although sometimes I did find some questions puzzling so I asked the teacher to explain it to me if I was unable to find out for myself through dictionaries class mates or browsing the internet.
I found personally help from teachers particularly useful as they are able to guide you in the direction you need to go in. This gives you the chance to structure your work better and explain the what, how, why and support your work with references from reliable sources. I mostly used my references from the health and social care book useful to our course, since I knew the information was reliable and up to date.
One useful source of information I stumbled upon was a pamphlet that I found during my work experience at city hospital

    c. The ability to control the businesses accounts is linked to the other two purposes I’ve already mentioned. If transactions are recorded accurately, then actions can be taken to control the balance between money flowing in and money flowing out of the business/firm. As an example, if it appeared that expenses were increasing but sales were staying the same, then the owner could look for ways to control or cut costs.…

No two service users are the same, therefore each service user is to be treated as an individual. Identifying need is important in health and social care because health care professional must know what they are aiming towards whilst caring for service users. Therefore, identifying their needs is the first step into providing the best care for them. An example of some research that identifies need is The Family Nurse Workforce: A Study for the Family Nurse Partnership National Unit. This research is important because it gives information about what the Family Nurse Partnership programme is, and what they do, which is to provide protection and support for vulnerable young first time mothers. The service offers home visits carried out by specially trained nurses. The Family Nurses and supervisors are required to provide all their qualifications and background to ensure that they have the proper training e.g. a knowledge of various medical conditions and the services available to help cope with this condition.…
