P7-Review own performance in officiating a selected sport, identifying strengths and areas for improvement
M4- Explain the identified strengths and areas for improvement, and make suggestions in relation to improving own performance.
I am now going to discuss my own performance and look at what areas I need to improve on , I was analysed by a group of students and I have received enough feedback for me to discuss and review my own performance in detail which is what I’m going o do.
There was one outstanding attribute that I shown which was the way in which I used the application of rules of the game to perfection. This is something I had to revise properly before refereeing a game to ensure I knew all the rules of the football game. The way in which I made sure I applied the laws of the game excellent was by acting upon decision I needed to make very quickly, for example when a player was focused inside the penalty areas I had a decision to make whether to award a penalty to the attacking team, I had to consider many things I including whether the player had dived or not, I did give the penalty as I felt it was a very rational challenge made and also disallowed a goal scoring opportunity.
In addition to this I also showed good refereeing skills according to those who analysed my performance. This is because I used had a good effective use of the scoring system, this is something which is very vital to a referee’s role as it’s important to know which team in winning. The way, in which I shown good effective use of the scoring system was by making sure the players knew the score every time a goal was scored, I also had a notepad which I wrote all the goal scorers numbers on which made sure I knew who exactly score from which team. This was also a good initiative which I decided to do of my own back. Having a good effect on the scoring system and known the score at all times I important as a ref as when a team scores a lot of goal you may lose count but
