The only way to cut crime in our country is to make punishment server
Year after year the world has change. Those changes have had the good and the bad impact in society. One of the bad impact is crime and violence.
According to statistics in Albania in recent years crime has increased. Our country is the first in Balkans with the highest percentage of murders. There is an increase in burglaries, robberies, violence. The statistics show the murders level plot 4 to 100 residents. The question that make every one of us is “What we can do to cut crime in our country”?
Punishment are seen as the best way to fight crime in all times and in all states. The problem is that in our country these penalties are not severe and not fully implemented.
One of the most useful punishment in our country is prison . I think that imprisoning people isn’t a good way of responding to crime because:
It does the victims of crime no good, it costs a lot of money, it tends to turn them into worse criminals. Imprisoning people for non-violent crimes is in general a disproportionate and immoral punishment.
In my opinion, prison should be used (if at all) only for dangerous, violent criminals, who should be kept in solitary confinement for life, out of contact with other prisoners. Otherwise they can and do commit crimes against other prisoners while they're inside, and further crimes when they're let out.
In other hand in our country is the problem that prisons aren’t safe because one month before from a high security prison excaped 10 dangerous criminals. Those statistics and incidents show to all our society that we need to have more punishment that involved and the idea of re-educating criminals into useful and law-abiding members of society. We should try to create a better country with strong laws, serve punishment to have a peaceful future.
