Turning Point - Religious Point of View
The phrase “turning point” has a lot of meanings but personally, for me, it is a moment that caused me to realize what has always been in front of me. Turning point may also mean a time at which a decisive change in a situation occurs, especially one with beneficial results. Recently, one event became the turning point of my life and my beliefs.
Last Tuesday, our class, II-St. Therese watched the film “The Encounter”. That movie marked a pivotal moment in my life. It helped me realize that Jesus will truly always be there for me anytime I need Him to be and all I have to do is ask Him and talk to Him, He will always be there to listen to my pleas and He will always be there to answer my calls. I learned that I should trust in Him because He has some things planned for me and He will never do anything to purposely place me in harm’s way. The film has quelled my doubts and answered my questions. It made me realize that God has always been there to guide and protect me.
The movie also showed me that God can be a father-figure in my life. He will always be there for me through thick and thin and He will never desert me. It shows that even through the darkest times of my life, He was, is and will always be there to shed light upon the darkness of my path. It also showed me that God does not do anything without reason. I learned that God is Love and His actions show love to others as well. It showed me that God is all-knowing, all-seeing and all-hearing. He always looks over me night and day every single day of my life.
I must learn to trust in Him wholeheartedly and doubtlessly because He loves me so. I must believe in Him and honour him in any way that I can to show my gratitude for everything He has done for me. I must be strong in my faith and in my beliefs and I must not be easily swayed by the temptations and evil that plagues our falling world daily. I must learn to be strong in the midst of all the hardships and sufferings of this world because I know that

The Tet Offensive could also be described as a key turning point because it caused both sides to change tactics. For example the Vietcong reverted back to Guerrilla Warfare after the attack and the USA seemed to be doing the same, they were now using small unit acts instead of large unit sweeps of ‘Search and Destroy’. This was a turning a point because the USA realised they needed to changed tactics, this implied they felt like what they had done previously was not enough to win the war, again it shook their confidence. Another change…

The movie was very powerful just to learn about hate crime and how it attracted a lot of attention from media as well as public all over the world due to his tragic death. Matthew was the type of person that was very approachable and always put his family and friends first. Even though the death of Matthew Shepard was undeserved I definitely think that some good has come out of it because it made people realize how much violence and hatred there in the world and what it can turn into. This tragedy helped the nation wake up to the fact that hate and discrimination still lives in our communities, schools and families. Mr. Dennis Shepard gave speech in tribute to his son Matthew brought tears in my eyes. I was able to connect and engage to that moment. That moment touched me so much that I couldn’t stop crying.…

What made this movie so special is that it shows through heart break and trials in life that there is something out there. There is something/someone special for us. No matter how hard life can be and no matter how long our sadness last. There is a light. We always have the ability to get up by ourselves or with a little help from our friends and family. Divine providence was that one thing I remember most about this movie. To be able to leave everything to Him for I know that He already has my life planned out for me. Having self-sacrifice in order to pave way for the comfort of others will bring me not only god’s mercy but self contentment as well. I was able to realize that most things in this world is temporary and that the best thing I could do is to leave it to someone who is capable of controlling this things to guide me throughout life. Saint Dominic was such inspiration, really. And I look forward to seeing more of him and his story in the…
