Turn TV on, turn happiness on! Nowadays, people are always oppressed by pressures because of heavy works. There are many ways to let people relax themselves such as doing some sport, reading books, and listening music, etc. Thanks to the advanced technology, watching TV become one of the most popular ways to push pressures away. Also, it is an outstanding way for many people to entertain and update information. Eating junk food and watching TV turn into one of people’s lifestyles. TV shows come in variety of forms, it can be classified in three ways: competition show, drama, and comedy. Competition shows become more and more popular over the past decade. It gathers judges and contestants, and usually has audiences cheer for those rivals. Participants often come from many different places and have their own stories, and they usually inspire many people to chase their dreams. The winners of the competition usually chosen by viewers through internet, telephone, and short message service text, and they can get a bundle of money and become performing artists. American idol, the voice, and dancing with the stars, for example, they are most popular competition shows in the United States. American idol, one of the most fantastic singing competitive programs, assembles many talented singers from different places. There are many famous and brilliant singers from that show such as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Dancing with the stars, moreover, celebrities paired with professional dancers to compete against with other groups. The couple determined by audience votes and judges’ points. The viewers always fascinated by contestants’ allure and magnificent performance. This type of show usually makes audience feel more real and touched by those contestants’ emotions and stamina. No wonder it can catch people’s attention. Another form of TV show is drama. It is a serious work or program for television, and preformed by actors and actresses. In addition, it has dramatic progression and emotional effect. Dramatic programs usually has many seasons depends on the extent of popularity. Take grey’s anatomy, game of thrones, and NCIS for examples, they are the top three dramatic programs in the America. One of the most popular TV series, grey’s anatomy, describes the interns lives and the relationship between patients and doctors sincerely. It has been produced nine seasons, and still on the list of most popular TV show every week. The audience attracted by performers’ subtle acting, and obsessed by wonderful, affecting, and real-life stories. Game of thrones, the epic fantasy TV series produced by HBO, the main line of the story portrays the life and conflicts between noble dragon house and other seven kingdoms. The viewers arrested by issues of social hierarchy, religion, civil war, and sexuality. Comedy, finally, without a doubt, loved by every person because it always brings joys to life. It is usually a humorous work or program to amuse audience. It also has many seasons, and the subject usually is more close to daily life. Moreover, it is often inconsecutive stories, and every episode has its own topic. Welcomed by extensive audience, Modern family, Glee, and The Big Bang theory, bring plenty of joyous to viewers. Modern family, for instance, portrays interesting and funny things happened to three different families’ daily life. It takes the refreshing and funny view of the meaning of raising a family in this hectic society. Also, it expresses some timely issues to audiences, no matter they are gay family or multi-cultural family, love, and laughter will always company with them. Glee, the characters perform their relationships, sexuality, and social issues by singing. They express their emotions by adapting many famous songs. The viewers obsess with the beautiful songs, and feel for those characters’ dilemmas. In conclusion, whichever TV show people watch–competitive program, dramatic program, or comedic program¬–watching TV already become a most popular entertainment and plays a big role of family’s bonding. People get a lot of memories, laughter, and excitement there. Besides, they learn new things and get different information from it. It is helpful to people’s health, moreover, let them relax and get away from those work pressures. Therefore, watching TV is not always harmful to kids and people’s brains! Just turn on the TV, then, enjoy it!
