I have always wanted to learn to do it so, I thought that this would be the perfect first day of different for me. Whenever I had to braid my hair my mom would do it for me because, I did not know how to braid my hair. So I decided that I would do five trials altogether, one in each day doing my hair by myself.

When I was braiding my own hair for the first time I was feeling a bit nervous because I did not know how my braids are going to turn out. I have always seen my mom do braids on me so I kind of knew how to start the braids and end them. I was not 100% sure how to braid hair so I looked up a few videos on how to braid hair. I was also a bit anxious to find out what my braids are going to turn out like. So I did my five trials of braids, and the last day of my trial I did two braids to challenge myself. trial for two braids

I feel more confident because I know how to braid my hair and I know that I am going to do a better job of doing my hair every time I try to do my own hair. Now that I recognized that I know how to braid my hair, I will be doing it more frequently in order to improve my skills on braiding hair. The thing that I was most startled with is that I could actually braid my own hair pretty decently. I was startled by that because when you are braiding your own hair you have to start from the back, so you don't really know how the back is going to look like. Whenever I flipped my hair back to the front I was startled that the backside of the braid actually looked pretty

Ever since I was a baby my mum always either braided my hair or put it in a ponytail. At the age of 7 my parents started me in swimming classes. I always wore a swim cap but the water still got under my cap. If my hair wasn't braided my mum would have to shampoo and deep condition my hair when we got home. In 6th grade my mum relaxed my hair and soon regretted it. Since I am very athletic my hair was even harder to upkeep than before, so I decided to stop relaxing it and grow my hair out, causing it to break off. In 7th grade I was able to take part in school sports. I participated in track and field, wrestling, and soccer, whilst still swimming in the summer. Sweat, dirt, rain, heat, humidity and the list goes on. I was constantly worried…
