Hair Dying Process
I’ve always wanted to dye my hair fun colors. My older sister Kayla used to dye her hair colors when she was in high school so I wanted to do it too. At the school I used to go to, you could not have any unnatural hair color, I couldn't wait to get into high school so I could dye my hair. I asked and asked my parents for weeks over the summer if and when I could dye my hair. After a very long time of asking, they finally said I could. Since I didn’t want to be too expensive and go to a salon, I went to my friend Cindy who knows how to do hair and stuff to dye mine lavender. About two or three days before the first day of school, we started the hair dying process. On the first day, we did two lightening treatments to make my hair very blonde

Would it be as beautiful as how I'd imagined it, or would it be the worst decision of my life? The chair squeaked and spun all throughout the procedure. At the halfway point our hair was a very light sea green, from the bleach. The next part of the operation was adding the special Rosy pink and light purple dye. Several TV shows past as we waited. After what seemed like a million years, we were finally done. The process was over and our hair was permanently pink and purple!…

The chemistry of hairspray deals quite a bit with soluble and insoluble solutions. Based on what we have learned in chemistry this year, I know that soluble solutions dissolve in water, so it makes since that at least part of hairspray is soluble. On the other hand, part also much be insoluble or else the hairspray would not "stick" onto your hair, nor would it deflect any water. This mixture of both soluble and insoluble solutions provides for the hairspray to be workable, and yet wash away easily.…

Hello my name is Chassidy Mitchem I would absolutely love to be a part of your cosmetology program. I love to do hair and, make up. Doing hair is something I enjoy doing in my free time. It’s a way to get away from people and let my mind explore into better things. I enjoy looking and trying new hair styles and colors. I have done makeup and hair for Homecoming court and Grand March. It would be an absolute dream to get into this school and have some hands on time with the things I love doing while learning more about Cosmetology. Cosmetology is very important to the world because someone will always want their hair done or make up done. Most people only want to go to a professional so they know they will be getting the best of their money. You could also be able to set up your own business around your area. I differ from a lot of my peers because no one really understands the importance of Cosmetology the way I do. Everyone thinks it useless. Cosmetology is just as important as other jobs because someone will always need you. There will always be someone needing their eye brows done or maybe there nails especially during homecoming and prom or even a wedding. I’ve talked to a couple people and got some really interesting opinions. Some people has told me I wouldn’t make it and some people has told me I would, but my motto is “Never give up, because you never know how close you are to fulfilling your dream.” I plan on getting this degree and opening my own salon and I feel that it will give me knowledge I need to know for success. I learned to do this at a young age and I feel very strong about this career. I believe this will be the field I dedicate myself to. I hope to be attending this college at whatever time the school year would…

I started wearing black all the time and had wanted to dye my dark blonde hair to match. My mom (a former hairdresser) had previously assisted me in lightening my hair a handful of times refused to have any part of dying my hair black so I ended up doing it myself. It didn't occur to me that having long thick hair I would need more than one box so I was left with dyed black hair with random parts of blonde undyed hair which made me, even more self conscious which got worse over the next month. Within two weeks of dying my hair I had ended up in the second foster home (which consisted of living with a much older widower in her 60's who was very nice and had encouraged me to be present at her family gatherings weekly which I was for at least the first week or so. My hair always grew super fast and now I had another issue as I had my blonde roots growing in making the dye job worse than it already…

During the 1960’s in the United States of America there was very little acceptance of people with different backgrounds or races. The only way to be accepted was to be a conformist and to prove you were just like everyone else around you. This would hold impossible for any one that was not white. Any sign of unconformity or differences would be used against you and any place you hoped to hold in society. The United States, during this time period, was not the land of equality that President Lincoln had hoped for when he proclaimed freedom of slavery for African Americans in the Emancipation Proclamation.…

Hair is an important part of everyone’s lives and I wanted to create an opportunity to expose it. The hair industry is just as important in our lives as food, gas, cars, and money. The reason being is that it is an ever growing and ever changing industry, what was great and new is not as hot and the “latest” as it once was. This has led to a demand in styles and supplies.…

No matter how my hair looked I was always jealous of the next persons “perfect” hair. At a young age I had a meltdown about my hair getting darker. A lady that is like my grandmother, CiCi, who was always super tan with perfect blonde hair told me she had a way to solve my issue. She told me that when I get older she knew how to fix my dark blonde hair with a little coloring. At that age I didn’t know anything about dying hair I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that my hair was getting darker. Between the cost and effort I never went to a salon to color my hair. I did find a much cheaper solution, which was blonde shampoo. The bottle said it was for all shades of natural, color-treated or highlighted blonde hair. It was advertised as helping keep your color, which was music to my ears. After many years and many bottles later my hair only seemed to be getting darker. With blonde shampoo not working I tried the next best solution, or so I thought. I later found out that lemon juice was more damage to your hair, only after I applied nearly a whole…
