Life Statement Leadership is something I strive for in my everyday life. In Troop 157 I have had many opportunities to demonstrate my leadership skills. In troop 157 I have been a quartermaster, senior patrol leader, and I am currently an assistant senior patrol leader. I was also a den chief with troop 868. I have planned 4 trips so far and also guided other scouts in their planning. At school I practice leadership in Skills USA, which is a business oriented club. In this organization I am the Junior Officer and I assist in the planning of events.
I am an active student in my school. I am in Spanish club and Skills USA and I was also in the chess club until it was closed due a lack of participation. I am currently taking all honors

Nearing the end of my road to the Eagle Scout award I am finding that my purpose in life is becoming more clear. Through scouts and the other activities that I have surrounded myself with, I have come to realize that I want to be a leader. In the leadership positions I have held I have picked up so many skills that I am going to use in my life. I don’t just want to be one type of leader though. Leadership is a lifestyle, not a role one adopts. Leadership requires strength and power, but also the ability to empathize and recognize others' needs. As a high school student, I have had many opportunities to be a leader, whether it be through clubs, group projects, or extracurricular activities. During my Junior year, I assistant directed the play Steel Magnolias under the eye of my drama teacher as well as a college student director. This role allowed me to learn the ropes of directing as well as take care of the six girls cast in the show. I adapted the role of the "stage mom," making sure every hair was curled to perfection and every prop was in its place, as well as ensuring their lines were memorized and their staging was proper. I…

There are many frameworks into which the term “leadership” may be defined. Merriam-Webster defines it as a position as a leader of a group, but also as the power or ability to lead other people. Everyone in the Army is required to be adaptable to any situation, which lends itself well to acquiring leadership skills. Leaders must be willing to adjust their lines of fire in order to…

A self-employed business man once said, “The best example of leadership is leading by example” (Jerry McClain). He describes a true leader, a pioneer whose morals and selflessness guide her to guide others. She is an inspiration, and a beacon of hope for all to follow. I share this passion for helping and guiding by example, and as a member of the National Junior Honor Society, I would seek to better the community just as I do every day inside and outside of the classroom.…

I am a leader. I have all the qualities that make a great leader, but I was not born this way.Experiences and how someone reacts to those experiences are what truly make a leader. One of the most influential experiences I have gone through is called the Lebanon High School Marching Band. I am certain that I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for marching band. Before coming to high school I already had leadership qualities, but band helped bring all those great qualities together and helped me get past my two major flaws: my lack of self-confidence and the fact that I was probably one of the shyest people you would EVER meet. When I joined marching band, I spent most of my waking hours sweating and suffering alongside wonderful people that I longed to…

To me, leadership is leading by example. My years in high school have shown me that the person who builds people up, and shows kindness is more of a leader than someone who commands and controls people. I strive to be this kind, caring person who others can look up to. As I grow older, I hope that by doing the right things, I can inspire others to do the same.…

When it comes to demonstrating leadership, I can lead people and motivate them to reach for goals that they might think were beyond them. I wanted them to accomplish more than they thought was possible and to do it not because they need to but also for the fun of it. I am a very good role model for the younger kids, especially middle schools kids, at DCIS.…

First of all, I display excellent leadership skills. For example, in JROTC I am the 1st Sergeant and it isn't a rank that just anyone could get. I am responsible for correcting uniform violations, the accountability for all cadets in Alpha company , as well as taking control of the company in the absence of all officers. Being the 1st Sergeant takes a lot of discipline and attention to the job because if something goes left it all falls on me. I also served as Beta Club secretary 8th grade year and co-secretary my 9th and 10th grade years. As secretary, it was my duty to ensure that meetings are organized, recorded and minuted. Notes from past meetings had to be handled properly and decisions made during those meetings had to be recorded and presented to the everyone. One of the lessons that is taught in JROTC is to lead , you first must serve others.…

One time I took a leadership role that was the most relevant to me was when I was the leader in my robotics team in high school. I needed to take the role because everyone else seemed lost and I was the only one with previous robotics experience so I told everyone if they mid if I become the group leader and no one minded. One thing I learned about myself by being the leader is I am very good at giving people specific jobs and keeping everyone on task without them getting distracted. Another thing I learned about myself is i am a strict yet fun leader because I know when its time to stop playing around and get to…

I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…

Leadership is a set of skills and traits that are honed through experience. Throughout high school and university, I have been gifted with opportunities to experience positions of leadership. As a young emerging leader, I recognize the importance of leadership within the context of community development. That being said, I have also come to understand how a person can significantly improve the lives of the people around him/her through leadership. In this paper, I aim to detail my leadership experiences, the significance of these commitments, and lastly, connect my passion to those of the admirable Dr. Gary McPherson.…

In the past, I have demonstrated leadership as both the assistant manager of a frozen yogurt shop and as a leader in the University Honors Program as a member of the Honors Student Council. I have also exhibited leadership throughout my academic and sports career by acting as a role model for my peers and leading by example. As a leader, I know that I do not need to be the most vocal, and instead understand that I should set the standard for my peers to follow. My past leadership…
