Transitioning To Middle School Essay
Transitioning from elementary school to middle school can be very hard. While change can be hard sometimes, the transition can be easier if you can get the hang of things. As a graduating eighth grader at Hillside Middle School, I have a bit of advice for entering sixth graders. One piece of advice is to put in effort in all of their classes. Another is to be respectful towards everyone, including themselves. Lastly, to get involved in school activities or sports. By following these pieces of advice, an incoming sixth grader should be able to have a productive and fun time at Hillside. One piece of advice I would give incoming sixth graders is to put in effort in each class. This includes paying attention in class. By paying attention in class, a student can actually learn and be prepared for any follow-up work. Also, a student in middle school should put effort into their school work, quizzes, and tests. This will help them learn and keep their grades up. Lastly, they should put effort into homework and projects. This can keep their grade up and give them extra practice. By putting in effort, incoming sixth graders can learn to be productive. Secondly, a piece of advice that I would give an incoming sixth grader is to be respectful towards everyone. They should be respectful towards …show more content…
This can help them make friends. Many other students do school activities, so it is a great way to meet people. Doing sports can help them stay healthy. Exercising with a team can motivate students to do the work it takes to do that sport. Lastly, students can do things that make them happy in a group. For example, if a sixth grader enjoys art, it could be really fun to do an art club surrounded by others with the same passion. This is why I would suggest that incoming sixth graders join school activities so that they can have fun at

Hello Dr. Aaron Oberman and fellow classmates. I’m excited to be taken this course because I’m almost at the finish line of completing my degree. I have been working in social services for almost 15 years helping adults meeting their needs while aiming at becoming self-sufficient. I enjoy my job, but I’m burned out, meaning my job no longer brings me the same satisfactions as it did 15 years ago. I reevaluated my life giving consideration to my age, family and happiness and decided it was time for a career change. As an undergrad student, I recall an instructor telling us in life most people will have a job and a career. Social Services is currently my job and school counseling will be my career. With age I have learned helping others…

For example, middle schools are often much larger, and students may find themselves separated from their elementary school friends. They have to make new friends in a strange, unfamiliar setting. Also, instead of having one teacher, students have five to seven different teachers a day. That is a lot of new people to get used to.…

Sixth Grade is very fun, but some classes are easier than others. In middle school you transition classes every fifty minutes. My best class that I would say I have pretty good at is Math, some of it is easy to understand and some of it is hard for me to understand. In 6th grade, the grade I think I could have improved on is science; it’s usually the easiest subject but for me, it’s hard. I have grown a lot in the 6th grade; I have improved physically in P.E.. Some of my grades have improved like my free on science in which has gone up a letter grade; but in other classes my grade has stayed the same such as, L.A. and math.…

How did I approach Essay writing in High School? Well, before I can explain that to you I must first explain that I have never been to high school or for that matter an elementary school in my entire life. I wanted to start by telling you a little about my educational background. From the ages of 5-16 I was homeschooled. I was raised in a religious community where I was homeschooled along with my siblings and all of the children that were part of the community. I left the community when I was 16 and since then I have always wanted to go to college. I did earn my GED a few years ago, always with the dream of attending college.…

This year I’ll be working in a middle school teaching sixth grade. I believe it is very important to set a great foundation for sixth graders. At this level of learning I believe they have to learn discipline. Its important for students at this level to learn discipline to help them grow and mature as students. What better way to help them achieve this through setting in place rules and procedures for the classroom. Starting the year off setting rules will set the students in my classroom up for great success, if the they come in understanding what’s expected of them. Van Brummel suggests, “To create an optimal learning situation, indicate your expectations clearly.” One of these supports will be classroom rules. These rules will be for the entire classroom, which will be set at the beginning of the school year. The rules will be simple and easy to understand for young students. The rules as follows:…
