Where did the racial inequality of man come from? Throughout time, this was a problem throughout America. There was always a conflict between the two main “races”, white people and (negroes) even when there was a lack of jobs and money across America. White people still had time to humiliate and deprive negroes of their equality and freedom. Over time, this “social hierarchy” has been noticed and brought to the attention of people worldwide through books, famous speeches and much more. For instance, the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee bring up the conflict of racism and the justice system and how the aspects affect each other. The famous speech of Martin Luther King mainly expresses how negroes are treated unfairly and how he views the future based on the coming together of people of all races and religions. Even in modern America, social inequality is evident in ways that aren’t noticed at first but once looked at from the right angle, can be seen as it really is. Harper Lee’s novel is about how life was like in the south during the 1930’s. Narrated through a young white girl named Jean Louise Finch known as ‘Scout’. She raised in one a very few number of white families that accept negroes as equals, her and her brother Jeremy ”Jem” Atticus Finch get a taste of how cruel and spiteful the people of their little town of Maycomb, Alabama are to negroes. To sum it up, they dislike the way negroes are treated and the conditions they live in even when white people have better things. For example, Scout was alway going to a white people church and one Sunday she was taken to a negro church by her house maid Calpurnia. While there ,Scout experienced what it was like for negroes. The church was stuffy, the church looked worn down and very few hymn books were present while very few knew how to read. this is what shocked Scout the most because she thought everyone knew how to read at one point in their lives.
