As honorable as this calling may be, it comes with great responsibility. Teachers can become overwhelmed, feeling like the weight of the world and its future rests on their shoulders. They cannot be like parents who can choose to limit their focus on investing in their own children. A teacher’s influence can be limited to their school, their classroom, and their students.…

I was inspired to teach from a bad experience I had when I was in elementary school. I was in the fourth grade and had a teacher that was very unfair to her students. We never played any learning games or activities. She was very as they say "old-school". She never smiled, never greeted us at the door, and we sat at our desk until it was recess time. It was always come in, sit down and do your work. This inspired me because I did not want to be like her and I wanted to make a change in a child's life, not make him/her feel inadequate. I wanted to teach children that they can have fun while they learned.…

Through these teachings, I will be sure that the information that needs to be learned will stick with them through further years in their educational careers. By definition, a teacher is someone who provides educational instruction and communicates lifelong lessons. To me, teachers are much more than that. Teachers can touch base on topics you normally wouldn’t find in a text book. The purpose of education is not to fill the minds of children with facts, but to teach them how to think for themselves. Teachers can inspire children to be proud of who they are and help them overcome their adversities. I have chosen to go into this field because I want to help get children ready for an important part of their lives. Watching my son grow and having the privilege of being able to see how his young mind is starting to put pieces together has made me want to be a part of that for all young…

Everyone asks that question, and now I truly feel I have an honest question in regards to it. I learned that teaching is both a science and a passion, but overall passion drives me. While in the classroom I learned that I found the good in each student, no matter what situation they were a part of or came from. I learned that being a teacher is time consuming and that differentiation is one of keys to success. Overall, I learned that I mean to be a teacher and I am excited to learn more about this field of…

Every since I was young I always wanted my career to be teacher. My grandfather is actually the reason why I wanted to become one. I wanted to follow in his footsteps. The word teacher is responsible for informing or teaching someone something. But not everyone would have the same image of a teacher. I personally have an image of a teacher as being someone who is kind, loving, gentle, patient, and understanding. When I think of the word teacher, I get the visual image of a person standing by a desk helping a child with their school work. My own thoughts of what I believe a teacher should be, along with my life experiences and goals all contribute to why I want to be a teacher. My thoughts of what a teacher should be formed from my own life experiences. As a child grows up, they learn many things and for most of us, we do not remember learning some of the things that we know how to do, for example walking, talking and loving. There are many forms of teachers, as an adult, I myself am in college learning, but I also find myself learning things from other people and my work environment.…

Motivation plays a big part in the classroom. In order for students to be motivated, the teacher must be motivated, or at least to look motivated. As teachers we need to transmit that passion, that excitement about our lesson everyday, because if students see the teacher disorganized, not exited and bored about their lesson, can you imagine how the students will be? I remember in my primary years of education, I had a science teacher who was always motivated. The minute he walked in to the classroom, I knew by just looking at his face, that we were going to do something fun and exciting. I would always be anxious about class to start because I always had fun in that class. I don’t recall hating a single moment of his lessons. Science is not an easy subject but Mr. Efrain, my science teacher made it easy and fun and that is the result of his character and his…
