time is money
Time is money
Indeed, however the concepts of “time” and “money” are closely related, they are not equal. Some people complain about the lack of money, but do not know how to kill their time, while others earn decent amount of money, but cannot find a minute of free time.

In the formula, “time is money” – there is great wisdom, which, however, is formulated too generally.
As well as money, time is a resource. However, this is a unique resource. Time, unlike money, you cannot borrow, save, or pile it up for future use.
Therefore, the problem is not how much time we have, but how we use it.
People, who do not know how to manage their time, are in constant tension.
Not surprisingly, the time it is never enough.
Experienced businessmen say, “If you cannot manage your time, you will not be able to control anything else.”
The rational organization of time can put in front of us a lot of problems, but at the same time open up tremendous prospects.
People, who do not know how to manage their time, can to reflect on his past for hours and months, regretting missed opportunities. If you look objectively, it is quite pointless, because the past cannot be changed. All that we can do is to build our future.
One who has wasted his time, and not studied, will not be able to pass in spite of being clever. So our success or failure depends on the right use of time.
People have become famous and rich by making good use of time. Research workers and scientists use their time to improve the lot of human beings. By making proper use of their time, they become famous. So also merchants and professionals, who work hard, make a lot of money. They know how to make good use of their time.
Knowing how precious time is we should never waste time, but make good use of it.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Another topic in the article Metaphors We Live By that made a good point was the idea of how metaphorical expressions can also be a foundation in our everyday activities. Lakoff and Johnson use the metaphor “Time is money”. In our thriving business world, the word time is a valuable asset, a limited resource, and is needed to be productive in our surroundings. The article uses the metaphors “You’re wasting my time”, “You need to budget your time”, and “You don’t use your time profitably”. Lakoff and Johnson get the point across that time is a valuable and limited asset to our culture.…

In the Systematicitty of Metaphorical Concepts Lakoff and Johnson uses the metaphor “Time is Money” to emphasize that time is a valuable and limited asset to our culture. Time is viewed and treated as a valuable commodity that cannot be replaced by anything except in most cases by money. The movie, Out of Time, takes the metaphor in its literal context. Instead of money, time is currency and the people with the most time are the richest. This metaphor is the foundation of my every day activities. Having a full schedule, loosing track of time could be detrimental to my entire day.…

It was Ben Franklin who said: “lost time is never found again.” Mr. Benjamin Franklin also said: “Remember that time is money.” Each of us has exactly 24 hours per day. Neither more nor less minute. Those of us that maintain a full time job know very well that we trade our time weekly in exchange for money. Some of us earn more money for less time and of course the opposite is true. Nowadays there are two categories of people. People from the first group work hard in order to make enough for a living, to satisfy their basic needs. While the others consider money as a way to win more power and better social position, sometimes – even friends. They say “Money makes the world go round” and time represents only money for them.…

Time is the most precious thing for a man as it comes only once in life .No one is so powerful that he can stop the time. Time is important as life. Time is here and only now. Time should never be wasted. If you waste the time, time will definitely waste you. We should know the value of time in our life. We need to do every work at an appropriate time. We should wait patiently for the proper time so that time will be used best. Time didn’t wait for anybody. ALFRED TENNY JOHNSON writes in his poem “The Brook”:…

But the influence of ”time is money” is not only limited to the language but also to our everyday lives and in particular to our work life. In modern day's capitalist societies our amount of work is defined by the time we spend. We get paid by the hour, we have to be there on time, and if we stay longer we get paid overtime. This takes the metaphor a step further; so that money equals work, and when we are wasting time it implies that we could use it in a better way i.e. by working. In the United States people follow this idea very closely and work an average of 1790 hours a year compared to 1546 hours in Denmark (OECD).…

Those who do not know the importance of time, waste it or rather they spend it doing nothing. There is a proverb which says that killing time is not a murder; it is a suicide. It means, by wasting time one is not harming others. On the other hand one is harming himself. Ordinary people merely go on thinking how to spend their time. The wise and talented make use of it fruitfully.…
