Theme Of All Summer In A Day
“All summer in a day” is a short story written by Ray Bradbury. In it the theme of the book is about jealousy and acceptance. In a jist the story is set on Venus where the sun only comes out every seven years. This girl, Margot came from earth and has felt the sun and remembered it. The kids born on Venus are jealous of the kid Margot because they want to remember the sun too. So they lock her up in a closet so she can’t go outside when the sun comes out. In the book i read, “Ready player one” Ernest Cline. The themes of this book are perseverance, survival, and jealousy.
I believe that the two books or writing pieces are similar because the themes can be jealousy but they are also different because my character also overcomes this and perseveres through the tough times. He makes it on to the next stage in his life.
In all “Summer in a day” the main character gets locked into a closet because the other people are jealous of her. In “Ready player one” the main character, Wade, gets his house blown up because the bad guys don’t like him and are jealous of Wade's knowledge.

One is extremely sensitive and attention-wanting, while the other is mature and mellow. One takes an idea way too far and causes an extreme internal conflict, which he will never hear the end of, while the other unintentionally causes a short-term external conflict which barely includes himself. These two characters also learn completely different things. One learns of his actual strength and that he doesn’t have inflammatory rheumatism, where the other character doesn’t lear anything except maybe to be more careful where and how he sets up his cot. When you think about it, though, there are also some big similarities between the two. For example both of these characters, intentionally or not, are the main responsibility for the story’s conflict. Both of the characters’ conflicts also involve their families. Lastly, they both lie during the story and learn it doesn’t pay off in the end. The similarities and differences between these two characters is just one small example of the many different characters in short stories. Next time you read a short story, think about what they do, and do not have in…

The only difference was one had a chance to leave eventually, the other did not. I personally did not enjoy the book immensely. There were some points that were interesting, but overall it was not my favorite. I was not able to feel connected to the book. The feel of the book overall was sadness, and even though I have felt sadness, it had never been that concentrated or painful. I did enjoy certain points, and I could relate slightly. Such as the lost feeling Amari seemed to have throughout the…

Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated, “The only way to have a friend is to be one.” However, some people advise not to be a friend and treat others unfairly. “All Summer in a Day” is a science fiction, short story written by Ray Bradbury. In the story, the sun is about to come out, even though it has been seven years with only rain and no glimpse of the sun. There are some children on Venus, and in Margot’s class she is the only one who wasn’t born on Venus. This causes the others to make fun of her. The other children decide to lock Margot in a closet since she is the only one who believes the sun will be up for a couple of hours. After the children go out in the sun they allow Margot the rejoin them, only now the sun has gone and the rain returns. The symbolism shown in the story of the sun, the rain, and the closet in “All Summer in a Day” exhibits the theme of bullying is cruel and can hurt someone in unpredictable ways.…
