The Wiz Play Analysis
I watched “The Wiz” last week at school in my Theatre class. Dorothy was having some problems with her Aunt, and got whirled away in a tornado to a magical land called Oz. To get home, she had to go talk to the Wiz, but along the way she had some friends to help her get there. Before she gets to go home she has to fight the Wicked Witch of the West with the help of her friends. In my opinion the play was decent it wasn’t all that good, but it was okay.
Was the actors’ acting extraordinary or was it mediocre? The actors’ acting skills were mediocre. My favorite actor was Amber Riley, Addaperle. Amber Riley was my favorite actor, because she stood out the most and how she played the role of the good witch of the north. Her voice was strong,

From an acting stand point, I had no idea what I watched after seeing this show I just know that it wasn't theatre and it wasn't acting. I felt as if a bunch of adults were running around stage playing dress up and make believe because they failed to portray the characters. The actress Velma Kelly was not as bad as some of the others but she lacked dept and multiple dimensions. The lead Roxie Hart acted like a little bratty school girl which came across as if she had done no character work and got the part of Roxie that day. She had this obviously fake accent that…

Chamberlain didn't retire. He learned to deal with the intensity, bulking up his muscles to withstand the shoving, elbowing and body checks. He went on a strict diet cutting out all junk foods and started doing extra training sessions including weights and sprints to bulk up.On March 2, 1962, Chamberlain set a record that has not been broken. Playing against the New York Knicks in Hershey, he scored 100 points in four quarters. The Warriors won the game 169-147. He got 28 of 32 free throws, despite his record of .506 percent from his free throws that season. His athletic ability really helped him to dominate the game. He scored 36 shots of the 63 he took during the game.…

The Setting of “Sure Thing” by David Ivis is important in terms of setting the mood as well as the context for the play’s main conflict. “Sure Thing” is set in a café where the the two main characters, Bill and Betty, awkwardly encounter one another. During their encounter, a ring of a bell continues to disrupt their connection. Despite the ringing bell, or because of the ringing bell, the two characters are able to establish a connection. The fact that they are ultimately able to establish a connection suggests many thing about relationships, such as that timing can play a major role in either beginning or not beginning a relationship. For instance, the bell (and the bell’s timing) suggests that Bill’s responses to Betty’s questions may have been different, if the timing created by the bell’s interruptions had been different.…

The play that my group and I read and presented was Behind Closed Doors, a play with the concept of, Tragedy in your past can affect your present if you do not let go and move on. The role I played was the director, which is a role in the theater, that’s very much so unappreciated. The purpose of the presentation project was to actually understand, hands on, what it takes to produce a Theatre play, and what the jobs and elements are to do so. In theatre, communication is key. Every job works in harmony with one another, and they all need each other to put on an incredible show.…

Not counting miles that rest of the characters were great. Both Agnes and Tilly, their character have layers for example, Agnes was more violent and confidence than she was, as for Tilly her hide background and her love for her friends show how complex their characters are. As for the rest, Chuck and Orcus were the comedy relief of the play, and the author and the cast did an amazing job writing and portraying them, they're tempo were perfect. Also, the wizard who always die in every fight scene, even though he has a minor role his character make a stand; we should give the author props, the wizard could have been a cheesy character but the way he was written was perfect, the same can be said to the fairies. As for Lilith, the demon queen, and Kaliope, the elf, were average characters nothing special about them.…

My classmates and I recently saw Watch on the Rhine by Lilian Hellman performed at the Arena Stage in Washington D.C. The play was directed by Jackie Maxwell. The main characters were portrayed by Marsha Mason, Thomas Keegan, Lisa Bruneau, Andrew Long, J Anthony Crane, Natalia Payne, Ethan Miller, Heidi Kaplan, and Tyler Bowman. It was my first time seeing theater-in-the-round; it was an amazing experience. Theater-in-the-round is much more engaging and realistic than a proscenium stage. Along with the staging, the actors were also incredible. I will focus on three actors in this response: Long, who played Kurt Müller; Keegan, who played David Farrelly; and Miller, who played Joshua Müller. These actors left the greatest impression on me out of all the actors. How they…

The characters were satisfactory. Although they were loud and energetic, they did not articulate their words. I could not understand anything that they were saying. I left out of the theatre knowing sixteen words: Rudolph, the, red, nose, reindeer, snow, pay, rent, moon, fuck, you, light, my, candle, Roger, and please! In fact, every line was sung. I felt like the characters were singing at me not to me. In addition, they were all over the place; the characters did not do a good job at conveying the story of Jonathon Larson, throughout the musical they kept running around, jumping, and screaming. By them doing that, it did not…

I really enjoyed Home Street Home Minneapolis, even though certain parts made me uncomfortable, it was beneficial to see the other side of the story. This production showed the rarely heard side of the people that the downtown improvements have affected the most. Most of the actors were people who have been or still are homeless. They also helped write the play, so the stories and scenes are from their point of view. zAmya means to move towards peace, I believe that the first step to peace is education.
