The US Truman Was Justified In Dropping The Atomic Bomb
“The Atomic Bomb was not only used to attack Japan, but it also helped to scare Russia” (Article 2) World War 2 was a very bloody war from 1939-1945. In WW2 there were two sides. The ETO and the PTO. The ETO was when the U.S. and all the allied forces fought against Hitler to try and save/help fix Germany from what Hitler had done. While men and women were fighting in the ETO, there were men and women fighting in the PTO. On December 7th, 1941 Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor Hawaii.
In doing that Japan had brought us into war and had declared war on the U.S. Before and after the attack, Japan was taking other countries and islands by force, but when asked to stop they would just tell the U.S. to back off. Which brought Truman to make to the bravest decision as president, he had to make. Whether to drop the Atomic Bomb or not. …show more content…
The Japanese also kept taking countries and island by force which was also killing people. The U.S. was done with Japan and they needed to learn a lesson. Months before Truman dropped the bomb, he would have fire planes drop fire bombs on factories and cities. The planes would drop bombs and within thirty minutes the resulting fires were out of control and it wasn’t good that on that day the wind speeds were 40 mph. The air was so hot from the flames that it would boil all the city’s water. The heat was recorded to be about 1,800 degrees F. This would keep going on for three more hours. After the bombing a official Japanese count reported nearly 84,000 killed, 41,000 injured and over 250,000 buildings and homes
