The Turning Road By L Estaque
In The Turning Road, L'Estaque, named for the road that curves through the painting, Andre Detain uses intensely saturated colors, shape, and line to capture the energy and exuberance of the scene and provide an evocative and sensational interpretation of the location he chose to paint. The piece’s present location is the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas, and was originally from L’Estaque, France. The piece is oil on canvas, painted in 1906.
The work is a colorful representation of a landscape, the trees and parts of the wall facing the light source are a bright orange and yellow color, the color of sun rays. In contrast, the shadows and objects that aren’t directly touched by the sun are mostly cool colors such as purple, blue, and green.

To analyze the gender stereotypes through the female’s traits and male’s traits in OLX Indonesia television commercials “Household” version, as the main theory, the writer uses Simone de Beauvoir’s critical thinking about the construction of gender by the society in feminine’s point of view and how women become what society wants to be because of the social construction about femininity and masculinity. Quais Du Seine by Gurinder Chadha is a unique story with definitive sections that fall into a classic three act structure. The short opens on three teenagers sitting on the banks of the Seine river in Paris. Two of the boys spend the first minute of the film catcalling women and laughing amongst themselves. The fact that the third character chooses to not stoop to the level of his peers signifies that he will play an important role in the film. We are then shown that sitting beside the boys within earshot is a teenage woman wearing a hijab. This possible conflict is the introduction of the second act. The woman gets up to leave. The quiet one amongst the three boys notices her just in time to see her trip and fall on her way out. When he…

The focus of the painting-the tree- is located in the center of the painting while the man is at the bottom left corner of the painting. Such positioning allows viewers to first recognize the tree which is the main focus of the painting upon looking at the painting. Although the tree catches the viewer’s attention first, the painter has made an effort to make the man stand out so that the viewers do not miss to see him. The painter does this by making the man wear bright colored clothes. The man’s clothes are blue and red as opposed to brown and gray. Dull dark colors like brown and gray would not have made the man as obvious as he is now. In addition to the colors used in the man’s clothes, the painter has also used color as a means of portraying the time. The light brownish, orange and yellowish background suggests that it is that time of the day when the sun is just about to…

The Path on the Island of Saint Martin, Vetheuil, is a medium scale oil painting that was created by Claude Monet in 1881. Claude Monet uses the technique known as en plein air by painting the natural landscape that surrounded him. Monet, like most Impressionist painters, had desires to capture and paint his initial impression of several different outdoor scenes. Impressionist artist escaped the classical ways of painting by creating pieces that had a sketch-like, or unfinished quality to them. This was not due to a lack in technique or training; this is a style that Monet acquired by using very dappled brushstrokes in his work. The individual brushstrokes portray the different shapes of each object, which enhances the composition of this piece. The overlapping of distinct brush strokes gives the piece depth and a lively quality. For example, the high grass is well depicted as blowing in the wind but this movement would not be as beautifully rendered if Monet didn’t use dappled brushstrokes.…

Fragonard’s The Swing is a celebration of romance, frivolity that’s filled with marked by elaborate decorativeness, light colors, and organic forms, which were just a few of the characteristics that were representative of the Rococo movement in 18th century Paris, France. Jean Honoroe-Fragonard's was a French born painter who throughout his life studied his craft in Paris and Italy under more well-known artists of the period, but eventually came to be one of the pioneers of what French Rococo was ideally about. Fragonard’s The Swing also known as The Happy Accidents of the Swing is considered as one of the masterpieces of the rococo era, and is considered Fragonard's best known work. The creation of this beautiful masterpiece was originally commissioned in Paris by a wealthy baron in homage to his mistress. The medium of this art piece was oil on canvas and stands at a height of 31 ⅞ " × 25 ¼". In the end Fragonard’s is someone whose name would become synonymous with the French Rococo. I really enjoyed this painting because of the beautiful colors of the clothing and scenery. It just gives an idea of whimsy and playfulness a reoccurring theme during this movement.…

Since its first publication in 1944 in French, the play Huis Clos by Jean-Paul Sartre has been translated into numerous languages around the world. The English translations have seen many different titles, including In Camera, No Way Out, and Dead End. The most common and accepted of all the title translation, however, is No Exit. The translation is derived from the literal meanings of the title words in French: “huis” means “door” and “clos” means “closed”. Thus, taken one step further, since the term “closed door” is associated with a sealed-off entrance, the translation became No Exit. However, every language has words and phrases that are exceptions to the rules, idiomatic expressions that only a native French-speaker would be aware of - and “huis clos” is one such phrase. So exactly how accurate is this English translation of “huis clos” from its original French? And what kind of an effect does the plays true title have on the story?…

“ If on advances confidently in the direction if his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined he will meet with success unexpected, ” by Thoreau. I think this quote means, you should always go for your dreams, don’t doubt yourself because the life you dream of maybe easier is than what you think. In Song of the Open Road, by Walt Whitman and Into the Wild, by John Krakauer, both show that you should go for what makes you happy even if that means leaving everything behind.…
