The Three Little Pigs Euphemism
My performance on the midterm was better than I expected, given that I did not study very many examples of the terms. However, I still failed to identify the terms for almost every question that required in-depth thought. I failed to identify the quote from The Three Little Pigs as a fable after second-guessing myself and assuming that the test must be referring to the quote rather than the story, and I completely failed to recognize the example of a euphemism. On most of the earlier reading tests, I made similar mistakes. I assumed on many questions that I was thinking too deeply into a question and that the test must be looking for the more straight-forward answer, only to find that I had been right the first time.
