The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty Essay
In the film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, our protagonist learns various life lessons throughout his journey: his journey of finding negative twenty-five for the last issue of Life magazine. A life lesson that stood out and changed Walter the most was, “stop dreaming and start living.” This is the life lesson that stood out the most because it really dictates what the movie is about. For me, the lesson I got from the movie was to be courageous and to live in the now. Also, this is the lesson that changes our protagonist, Walter, significantly. This life lesson occurs later into the movie, it occurs in the climax and falling action parts of the move. Specifically, two moments when Walter experiences this life lesson are when he goes into the helicopter with the drunk pilot and when he …show more content…
At a young age, I am not sure, exactly, what the purpose of life is but I do believe living in the moment is treasurous. This affects my life because I don’t want to have any regrets when I’m older, especially regrets of what I could’ve done. Personally, I love to travel and explore so I found the adventures of Walter Mitty very intriguing. It teaches me to explore and be courageous in life because life should have purpose. Additionally it affects my life because I like to stay in my comfort zone and not wander far away from it, this life lesson teaches me to be courageous and bold because life is supposed to be exciting and thrilling. To live in the moment teaches me to stop trying to control aspects of my life and to enjoy the present. Living in the moment is proven to make people happier because focusing on the now helps forget about the worries of tomorrow and the regrets of yesterday. Living in the now allows me to unravel and concentrate on the value of what I do. Living in the moment affects my life because it stops self-consciousness and raises awareness in my day-to-day
