In Liangshan rebels case, the ending of the Outlaws of Marsh is that Song government eventually granted amnesty to the Liangshan outlaws, and the outlaws eventually became government’s army and was sent to resist the foreign invasion. In a sense, the reason of the uprising of the outlaws is government’s unfair treatment. Therefore, when the government gave those outlaws’ rights and social position back, the uprising was settled and thus the temporary autonomous zone lost its value. Also, in the case of Prospero, when Alonzo and others truly regret their crimes and repented, Perpero’s desire to revenge also tranquilized. He then asked Ariel to free Antonio and the others from delusion of fear, and revealed himself in front of his brother. In a sense, Prospero ultimate goal is to get his dukedom back and went back to Milan.
