The Importance Of Generation Y
Generation Y refers to those born between the 1980 and 2000. This generation is commonly known as the confident type of people. Furthermore, they were born alongside the rise of technology and are more likely to be IT-savvy than their parents and teachers. However, HR Managers do face a difficult challenge handling this generation. Managers have a challenge trying to train and motivate them to work. By doing so, they want to get the best out of these employees in order to benefit the company. It is important for the managers to understand these new employees. As most of the people in this generation only recently started working, there is no single effective way to manage them.

HR managers would have to manage inexperienced employees. They would struggle trying to get them to listen which can be unhealthy for the company as they could be unresponsive for the workplace. Furthermore, they do not communicate well which might disrupt the flow of the company. Generation Y also needs constant guidance from families, friends and managers as they do not trust themselves as they lack independent thinking. They expect constant feedback from them. This would limit their creativity and would not benefit the company. Furthermore, time management has been a major problem as they are not committed to their job. They tend to neglect their job and leave everything to the final minutes before …show more content…
They do not get enough recognition from their employer. Even though they dedicate most of their time to work, their managers do not recognise their effort and often overlooks what they have contributed to the department. They also have no overtime pay even though they worked hours after the original knock-off time. They work hard and most of the time gets their job completed. However, there are times when they were not able to complete their work on time. When that happens, they would take overtime just to complete it. Apart from that, there are times where they were able to commit more by working overtime to do more work. As they tend to put in their best effort but yet does not receive the recognition for it, they lose the drive to want to excel and be company minded. Along the way, they becomes more self centered and comes to work just for the sake of the working hours so that they can receive their pay. The quantity and quality of the work done becomes unimportant to them

    Many people believe that previous generation of Americans was completely different than the generation that lives now days. Ideology and interests have completely changed. For instance, we all know that previous generation cared a lot for peace in the world, human rights and equality of mankind. Martin Luther King, John. F.
