The Importance of Accountability
This essay I am going to write is about the importance of accountability in the army, and as to how it affects the unit’s mission. First off by definition "Accountability is important in the military because soldiers are often times required to perform extremely challenging duties and services. Without accountability, a soldier cannot be expected to meet these high demands and expectations". Being accountable means being in the right place at the right time, being in the proper duty uniform, being dependable and always arriving to work on time, appointments on time and most importantly doing the right thing at the right time and all the time. One of the most important parts about being accountable is so that you do not miss any important information that you could use. The first formation of the day is one of the most important formations of the day because that is where all information is put out for the week, day, and even month. Being accountable also means that everyone knows where you are at all times, not just you taking care of you but everyone you work with being able to get in contact with you at all times of the day just in case they need too. The last formation is also just as important due to the fact the information that was put out at first formation can change and if you are not there for the change in information, you could show up at the wrong place or in the wrong uniform. So it is always important that you are either there or if you cannot make it there or to any of your appointments and other personal area, you need to make sure that you contact your supervisor. Unless you cannot get ahold of them then you need to contact someone to let them know of anytime that you’re not able to make an appointment or are going to be late somewhere. Accountability does not only affect you, it also affects every single person that you come into contact
