The Holocaust: Adolf Hitler's Final Solution
The Holocaust, What was it? What does it mean? Anne Frank. Who was she? Was she a child who witnessed the Holocaust? Was she an writer? Was her birth name Anne Frank? The Holocaust is actually a Greek word. Holos means whole, and kaustos means burned. Holocaust means the burning of an alter. The Holocaust was known as Adolf Hitler’s “ Final solution” (History.com). As for Anne Frank, she was born on June 12th, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany. She was not born as Anne Frank; she was born as Annelies Marie Frank. Her parents where Edith and Otto Frank. Otto Frank worked as a lieutenant in the German army during World War 1. When the war was over, Otto became a businessman in Germany and the Netherlands (Anne Frank). What caused the Holocaust? There were a number of things. The big thing was Adolf Hitler. It all started when Hitler became the chancellor of Germany. Becoming chancellor means you are becoming the leader of that country (History.com). Concentration camps had mass killing centers in them (History.com). Between 1933 and 1945, Nazis and their allies established 40,000 camps and incarnation sites (Nazi Camps). Famous concentration camps are Auschwitz, Belzec, and Bergen-Belsen (Concentration camps).
To me, I can’t even believe that there was a Holocaust. When I think about the Holocaust, it frightens me because I see myself at that time in that situation as Anne Frank was in. If I was in that time, I would not know what to
