How Did Irene Win The Holocaust
Numerous individuals put their life at danger during the holocaust. A large number of them had done diverse things in various approaches to attempt to help numerous European Jews throughout the holocaust. Out of many other individuals, I think Irene Opdyke merits this Award as she had put her life at risk. Irene was a polish catholic nurse who had joined the underground. The underground was a group or movement organized secretly to work against an extreme regime. The holocaust was a period where a large number of jews were fiercely slaughtered by the nazis amid the World War II. It was a genocide in which roughly 6 million jews were executed by Hitler. I believe Irene should win this award because not only did she risk her life but she had saved 12 jews. Irene and many others had done so much throughout the holocaust but Irene's story had caught my eye the most.
