The ghost of Banquo is all a figment of Macbeth’s imagination. As a director, there’s way more cons to not present the ghost to the audience. Despite the fact of what Shakespeare displayed in the play, he portrayed the ghost in Macbeth’s mind to show his guilty mind and somewhat the role of supernatural. Showing the ghost has some negative effects such as cutting out the guilt and illusion out of Macbeth’s mind. A bloody appearance of Banquo will startle the audience. Suspicion upon Macbeth won’t arise unless the spirit proves who killed him. However, Banquo remained unaware of who wanted him murdered so that brings a disadvantage to the whole play because it will destruct the sequence of the play. It will bring confusion.
