The Final Project Questions for Remember the Titans
MSCI 211 Spring 2013 Group Assignment (Due on Monday, August 5th , 6:00pm)
You will be working in groups of 3 to 5 students on this assignment. The objective of this project is to provide you and other members of your group an opportunity to demonstrate understanding of the course content and to have a "real life" experience of working with others.

Assignment: For this project you will watch the movie “Remember the Titans” (http://movies.disney.com/remember-the-titans), analyse it using the OB theories and concepts we covered in the class and answer the following questions.

1. At what point do the titan players move past "storming" to "norming"? What event(s) allows you to see that? When do they move from norming to performing? What event(s) allows you to see that they have agreed to the norms for the team? Be specific, and explain why those events were the "milestones". 2. What actions does Coach Boone take to increase the cohesiveness of the Titans. Give specific examples and make sure you discuss them thoroughly. 3. Over the course of the movie, coach Boone using different sources of power and influence tactics with his players. What type of sources of power and influence tactics does he use most frequently early in the movie (i.e. the beginning of camp)? What types does he use towards the end of the movie? Give specific examples, and explain the differences. Why does his influence style change? 4. Is Coach Boone a transformational or transactional leader? Be specific and provide examples to support your claim.

Format of the paper  When answering a question make sure that you support your answer by referring to specific observations and dialogues from the movie. You are required to write the assignment in an essay format. Hence, follow the rules of proper paragraphing and do NOT write your essay in the “question-answer” format.  Your essay should be between 2000 and 2500 words in length (Please include your word count on the last page.)  Write up
